Hani Pere
Freedom for all. Where do you belong?
(Four Families)
Our Philosophy
Have you ever felt out of place? Well, now you don't have to feel that way. We focus on your interests. We have four main groups art, academics, athletics and technology. When there is a special event happening, the other families will be there to support. But, wait, are you interested in two families? Such as the art group and the athletics group? You can join both!
Why Are We Here?
Our utopian society was formed because our creators and every one of our members believe in personal freedom and the ability to focus on whatever pleases you. In the old world, everyone felt pressured to be a specific person or have a certain job, but here in Hani Pere, there is absolutely no pressure, only the encouragement and support to pursue your interests and skills. Everyone is our society works continuously to create a welcoming and accepting society that thrives on friendships, achievements, and the advancement of our cultures.
Are You Right For Us?
We are looking for those who are very passionate about art, athletics, academics or technology. If you do not feel that you belong in one or more and are not passionate about it, this utopia is not for you. We need people who want to pursue these groups, this is what you would want to be doing for the rest of your life.
How Does One Join?
How do you join? Well, all you need to do is send in a video of why you are passionate about one or more of these groups. Also, part of that video should include you preforming those skills. If we think that you would fit in our society then, you will receive a letter saying if you made it or not.
American Dream and Novel
A main aspect of the American Dream is to pursue a career in an area that you love. That way, if you "choose a job you love, you'll never have to work a day in your life" (said by Confucious). Americans have taken this very seriously because instead of learning a wide focus of information, they tend to specialize in one area that they have the most passion in. Our uptopia uses the very fundamentals of this aspect, and that's why our society has thrived. In The Scarlet Letter, by Nathaniel Hawthorne, Hester has a strong passion and prowess for sewing. Due to that, she still holds a small place in society even though she is forced to wear the "A". Also, Dimmesdale is considered one of the best ministers because of his fervor and devotion. These are two examples of people living the American Dream by following a career that they are passionate about.
Comparison to Fahrenheit 451
In both Fahrenheit 451 and our utopia, there are specialized jobs for the members of the community. In the beginning of the novel, Montag has an epiphany when he realizes that all the firefights are "mirror images of himself" (Bradbury 30). Although this is slightly different from our society because our members can pick their own jobs, the general concept is similar. A major difference between our society and Ray Bradbury's, is that our leaders do not try to brainwash and control the people living there. Instead, we value free thinking because we believe that when people can think for themselves it helps them on their marvelous journey of experience and growth. Since one of the main groups here in Hani Pere is academics, intellectuals are very highly valued. We believe that they hold valuable pieces to an accepting society, just like our athletes, artists, and technology lovers do as well. In Fahrenheit 451, intellectuals are feared and targeted because the government does not want a community that thinks for themselves. To sum it all of, the majority of our Utopian beliefs go against the dystopia in Fahrenheit 451, by Ray Bradbury.
Disclaimer
Living in our community can be stressful. There will be a lot of work in order to help you succeed in your passion. Being in two groups in even more stressful. For some, it is just too much and they want to leave. Maybe they just need a change. We can do that, all you need to do is sign up for a meeting to change what is going on. If that doesn't help, then you will be asked to leave, but that will not happen. If one wants to leave you will have to sign up for a meeting and we will discus the issues. Once again, we will try our best to see if this is right for you. If we can not find anything that would help then you may leave.
