We are looking forward to implementing our 5 day a week schedule for hybrid students starting March 8. This means that students who were previously in Group 1, 2, or 4 will attend school five days per week from 9:15-1:15pm. Lunch will still remain grab and go, and due to the increased number of students on the buses, bus stop times may change slightly. There will be no changes for fully virtual Group R students.

Beginning, Monday, March 8, Concurrent learning will only be available for students who are required to quarantine.

  • Students who are registered to attend school in-person, must attend daily.
  • There will no longer be a concurrent option for any student to stay home and join the class through a Google Meet.
  • A student who is not able to attend in person schooling will be marked absent.
  • Students who do not attend school will receive their work when they return to school.
  • In-person students who are not comfortable attending in-person should contact the Main Office to arrange for a transfer to full remote learning.
  • Students who transfer to the full remote model will be assigned a new remote teacher.
  • Students who are required to quarantine will receive their virtual learning schedule from their teacher for the time that they will be quarantining.

As we move into this next phase of our reopening it is as important as ever to work together. If your child is sick or displaying Covid like symptoms please keep them home. Students who have been exposed to Covid or who are pending test results should also be kept home. Please remember to complete the daily Covid questionnaire available on the Parent Portal. If there are any questions please contact our school nurse Mrs. Thompsen at extension 5005.

Deal Ave. Arrival and Dismissal

As we prepare to bring students back 5 days per week starting March 8, please review these car line reminders in an effort to maintain student safety:

  • Please be patient as we increase the daily car line volume! This will be an adjustment for the first couple of weeks, so plan accordingly.

  • Drop off will begin at 9:05 and pick up at 1:00. Younger students are dismissed first (PS, K).

  • Where possible please have students seated on the passenger side of the car for quick entrance/exit.

  • The loading/unloading zone will be three cars which will begin near the crosswalk. Please do not let your child out of the car until you reach the unloading zone. Your child will be assisted by a staff member. For safety purposes we do not want children walking across the parking lot entrance/exit.

  • If you need to exit your vehicle to assist your child in the am or pm we ask that you please pull up past the crosswalk and park on the right side of Deal Ave. Stopping in the car line causes delays.

  • Preschool parents will continue to use Door 5 for morning drop off. We ask that after dropping your child with a staff member, please return to your vehicle as quickly as possible as there are only a limited number of parking spaces available. If you are waiting for drop off and there are no spaces available please wait until you can safely pull into a spot on the right side of Deal Ave. past the crosswalk.

  • Parents of preschool students, or those needing assistance with getting buckled in, can continue to park to the right on Deal Ave. past the crosswalk in the afternoon. We ask that once your child is dismissed you please return to your vehicle as quickly as possible as there are only a limited number of parking spaces available. If no spaces are available please wait until you can safely pull into a spot on the right side of Deal Ave. past the crosswalk.

  • If you would like your child to return to using the bus, please contact the Main Office.

We may make adjustments to these procedures as needed. Thank you as always for your cooperation!

Free and Reduced Lunch

This year due to COVID-19 Virus Berkeley Township School District is able to offer Free Breakfast and Lunch Meals to all students. If you are a family that qualifies for Free or Reduced Lunch there are other State assistance opportunities that you are eligible for, based on the application. Any family who feels as though they may qualify for Free or Reduced Lunch should complete the 2020-2021 Application for Free and Reduced Meals. The application is available via the Parent Portal, under “Meal Application.”

School is closed April 2-April 9. We will return to school on Monday April 12.
