4TH GRADE PLAY IS HERE!

The 4th graders are proud to present their student-created play EUREKA! WE FOUND IT based on the history of California. We will performing the play 3 times: this Thursday, May 12th at 6:30 (students report to school at 6:00), Friday, May 13th at 9:00 am and 10:00 am (please come to school in costume on Friday.) REMINDER: All students are responsible for providing their own costume

CAASP Testing

Thank you parents for all the support given last week during the Smarter Balanced Assessments. The time and effort your child put into demonstrating all that we have learned this year was impressive and you should be proud. If your child was absent last week, s/he will be making up portion(s) missed our child put into this week in a 6th grade class.

CONCESSION DONATIONS NEEDED

We will be selling snack items for the evening of the 4th grade play on May 12th at 6:30pm. We are asking for donations of water, Capri Suns, juice boxes, popcorn, cookies or chips. All proceeds will benefit the 4th grade fund which pays for supplies for our play and grade level field trips. If you are able to donate an item, please send it with your child to school by May 12th to Mrs. Carreon's classroom #304. THANK YOU to all the families who have already donated items. We so appreciate all your support!

Please see the link below for fraction support with the new math unit. It is a parent newsletter to help with math vocabulary and models. A hard copy was also sent home last week for your reference.

This Week's Learning

Math: Students will review mass, volume, weight, measurement, time, elapsed time and line plots.

Language Arts: Students will determine the theme of the text by referring to details and examples in a text when drawing inferences. They will summarize the text and compare and contrast the point of view from which the story The Life of a River is narrated.

Grammar/Writing: Handwriting/cursive writing.
