Principal's Note:
Dear Spartans,
We have come to the end of the first marking period. It seems like just yesterday that we started the school year. As we begin the second marking period, I encourage our students to view this as new beginning. Use this time as an opportunity to get off to a great start. If you need assistance, whether it be academic or social/emotional, please do not hesitate to reach out to someone. Spartan Time is a great time to seek that assistance. There is no shame in asking for help.
We anticipate grades being viewable to students / parents by the end of next week.
There is still time to sign up for a Chromebook to use at home. Thanks to a grant from the FCC Emergency Connectivity Fund, we are able to provide Chromebooks for students who do not currently have the devices they need to access classroom content from home. Click on the link below to submit a request.

Reminder- There is no school on Tuesday 11.8.22. Our staff will be collaborating with their colleagues from across the district, using data to any adjustments needed to our instruction to best support our students.
Don’t forget to turn back your clocks this weekend!
Have a great weekend!

Spartan Pride recipients:
This week’s Spartans exemplified their pride while helping fellow students in many areas. Starting off with Charlotte H. who is always willing to help fellow students in math class, Scarlett W. offering her kindness and athletic skills to fellow Spartans in PE class, and Iladya Y providing a caring nature and excellent modeling skills when tutoring students in the guidance office. While in ELA this week Spartans Riley A., Christian G., Stavros B., Carlton B., Sarah A, and Jack M. have gone above and beyond with their readings in class of The Crucible.
Congratulations to all our Spartan Pride recipients this week.
Livonia PTSA Council's Food Service & Custodian Appreciation
Good morning! Happy November!
The Livonia PTSA Council will once again be collecting donations to show our appreciation for the Food Service staff AND Custodians in the district! This is over 200 hard-working folks! We have created an Amazon Wish List for families to donate items and we will also be accepting monetary donations through our MemberHub store. We ask that donations arrive before November 14th. Thank you for supporting this event and showing your appreciation!

Depression, irritability, and anger. All can be so closely interwoven for youth as they navigate the adolescent and young adult years. While some people may say, “it’s just being a teenager”, that is not always the case for every teenager. For those parents or guardians experiencing these emotions from their teenager, it can be discomforting not knowing if it is indeed just typical teenage growth or something more significant.
The Child Mind Institute, which is a national independent nonprofit in children’s mental health, provides numerous evidence-based resources for families and educators. Below are a few of the resources on the topic of depression in teens that can be found on their website.
Keep in mind that no article or video can diagnose if a child is dealing with more than typical childhood development. So, if you are concerned, consider following up with your child’s pediatrician or your family doctor about those concerns.
