today sponsored by the PTA and Texas Rangers so wear a rangers t-shirt if you have one!
Friday the 27th - "Davis is Drug Free" - wear your Davis T-shirt or Davis blue!

- Spelling Words: leg, beg, men, hen, let, get, top, lot, no, some
- SIght Words to know: of, eat, no, some, who
- Grammar Focus: Plural Nouns

Social Studies
Unit 2 - Geography
Students will understand that where you live affects how you live and that maps tell a story. They will know relative location of places, the purpose of maps and globes, and physical and human characteristics of places. They will be able to locate places on maps and globes and create and use maps of their home and classroom.
Math - Topic 4 and 5
Topic 4 - Addition and Subtraction Facts to 12
Students will be able to
· Apply basic fact strategies to add and subtract within 20.
· Compose 10 with two or more addend.
· Explain strategies to solve addition and subtraction problems.
· Communicate their mathematical ideas and reasoning.
Topic 5 - Addition and Subtraction Facts to 20
Students find the connection between addition and subtraction. They write a fact family using addition and subtraction for facts to 20. Students are able to identify the unknown number in an addition or subtraction problem. Students understand the meaning of the equal sign in addition and subtraction problems.
Science - I Am A Scientist and Engineer
Students will independently use their learning to evaluate a scientific claim, construct explanations and/or design solutions. Students will be asking these questions:
· How do science and engineering impact your life?
· Why should you always keep wondering?
We have many fun experiments planned in the weeks to come!

There are many items that will be needed for the classroom throughout the year. I will be posting these items here. Once I have recieved enough of those items I will take it off the list. This list will constantly be changing!
