  • Week 1 & 2 Follow-up: We are happy to inform everyone that to date we have achieved both challenges. Week 1: 125 Carbon Footprints Calculated - SHS Community Average 9.3. Student Initiative ~ Senior School Fundraiser: A few senior school students will run a fundraising event for the Douglas Foundation. The Douglas Foundation is a non-profit organization that has the goal of improving the mental health of all. They rely on community donations which go to the prevention and treatment of mental illness, the broadening of public access to mental health services, as well as helping break the stigma surrounding mental illness. The foundation is based right here in Montreal. On Wednesday, April 14 Coach Derek Widgington will be bench pressing a weight based on the amount of money raised. For each 2$ donated an extra pound will be added to the weight Derek has to press. The goal is to see how far he can go, and hopefully get to the point where his strength will be no match for the weight. The boys who have lunch recess in the Guzzo Family (West) Yard on Wednesday, April 14 will be able to watch the action in person.

From the Advancement Office ~ Stronger Together Annual Giving Campaign:

  • Parent Giving Update: As we embark on these last three months of our Annual Giving Campaign, we encourage all Selwyn House parents to participate if you have not already done so. Our numbers are on the rise! 23.9% of current parents have made a contribution thus far. Thanks to the SHS community, we have raised $247,260 towards our $500,000 goal for Covid-Relief efforts, exceptional programs, professional development and bursary support.

  • Gifts don’t have to be large to make a difference – every single gift is important. In this time of uncertainty, as Covid concerns continue, we are incredibly grateful for all contributions. When we join forces, we are Stronger Together. To participate: Donate online or send a cheque payable to the Veritas Fund. For more information, please contact Mary Ann Cloherty (514) 931-9481 x 2294
