April

April showers.....well you know the rest!

April is SCHOOL LIBRARY MONTH!!

Students may come to the library and get the form to complete the library challenges. Any student who successfully completes the challenges will be entered into a drawing for an Ipad Mini. Nashville Public Library is giving away 8 Ipad minis to some lucky middle school students. Some of the challenges are: finding out a teacher's favorite book growing up, checking out a poetry book, checking out a fiction book suggested by their librarian, and doing a kind deed like picking up trash, pushing in chairs, etc.

Some Quotes Students Discovered About Libraries:

"If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need." Found by Tom Nguyen

"The true university these days is a colelction of books." Found by Elvis Thai

"A good library will never be too neat, or too dusty, because somebody will always be in it, taking books off the shelves and staying up late reading them." Found by Bob Qian

Battle of the Books - the latest

Students have until April 11th to submit summary forms of books they have read. They must submit a minimum of 4 forms. Mrs. Kelley will then collect all of the forms and meet with those students who have qualified to participate in the battle. We will have some school battles later in April to determine the best team of 5 to represent us at the public library on May 15th.
