2nd Hand News
May 11-15
We celebrated Grandparents day by working on capacity activities and releasing 2nd grade's homegrown butterflies. It was wonderful to see the interaction between the generations and their many shared traits and interests. Thank you families, for sending the Grands to learn about our classroom and share their experience with your Gallon Guys and Girls. It was a very enjoyable day.
2nd grade has been working on proper, improper, and mixed number fractions, vowel-consonant-consonant-vowel spelling words, and the children are reading the sequel to My Father's Dragon, Elmer and the Dragon. Butterfly reports are underway with research and sloppy copy writing. 2nd grade enjoyed ANOTHER Italian Ice treat for its Spring Frolic participation. This group certainly loves a frolic!
A FEW THINGS
- TRACK & FIELD DAY: A flyer went home last week with information about the LS Relay Races.
- TICKS: The little critters are out and about. Please be checking for them.
- SUMMER BIRTHDAYS: If your child would like to bring in a birthday treat, please pick a day and let me know so we can celebrate a little bit early.
I hope you had an enjoyable weekend.
With a smile,
Mrs. Nyce
