As a parent or caregiver do you sometimes need to just "take 5"? Mark the fifth of each month as your chance to just "take 5"! Come enjoy a casual night of conversation and fun. DSAW will provide appetizers and non-alcoholic drinks! Location to be announced each month.

DSAW-Chippewa Valley Group Music Therapy November 9
We have received a grant from the Eau Claire Community Foundation to introduce music therapy to our DSAW community. Music therapy can have positive effects in the treatment and progress of the four main areas of development (social-emotional, motor, cognitive and communication). We will have group sessions Thursday November 9, from 6:30-7:45 PM at the Eau Claire Public Library. We ask caregivers to stay if assistance will be needed with participant. Sessions will be run by Quinton Kase, MT-BC

DSAW-Chippewa Valley High Roller Skating Party Sun. 11/12 4:30-6:30pm
The building is open just for our group! Come and skate or play at the indoor play area. This is a FREE event for individuals with Down syndrome and their families! Roller skates or roller blades will be available to all guests. Socks are required. Concessions will be available for purchase.

Family Night Hike with S'mores! November 7th 7-8pm
Explore the nocturnal world and discover what happens at Beaver Creek at night!
Bring your sense of adventure as we take to the trails at to investigate the senses that come alive during the nighttime.
As we hike, we will also learn about nocturnal animals and the adaptations that allow them to thrive in the dark.
End the program with a s’more by the fire!
This program is family-friendly and recommended for children 7+.
Dress for the weather as we will be hiking even if there's rain or flurries.
Register by Monday, November 6 at 12:00 pm.
$7 Members and $12 Nonmembers
Walk-in are welcome.

Sensory Storytime November 17 @11-11:30am Altoona Area Public Library
An inclusive program for patrons ages 5 and up who are on the autism spectrum or have sensory-related needs.
