Week 9

We survived Football Homecoming Week 2015! Even a little rain didn't dampen our spirits and everyone enjoyed the parade and pep rally. Grade level floats were adorable and were all winners in our book!

Looking forward to hearing what Mrs. Howard, Mrs. Coughran, Mrs. Brewer, Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Ferguson learned at their first meeting with the University of Arkansas Science and Engineering Partnership on Saturday, October 10. The partnership is a fantastic opportunity for our district and we can expect a lot of knowledge and resources from these meetings.

We are having some issues with students going into the cafeteria for lunch. Let's try the following and see if we can stop the running on the sidewalk, entering the cafeteria loudly, etc.:

  • students need to use restroom BEFORE they go to lunch
  • duty people will say "No" the first time a student asks to go to restroom in cafeteria; if they really need to go, they will ask again and will be allowed to go
  • A grade level teacher needs to walk students to the cafeteria door each day; you can share this responsibility however you decide. But students are running down the sidewalk and we want to prevent injuries.

A couple of things:

  • Be looking for new basketballs soon (1 per class)
  • Use your iPad to take pictures during Spirit Weeks, parties and other events; Mrs. Pinkerton will take for the yearbook, but she will not be coming around to each class as she has in the past
  • Pick up your flu shot form from Ms. Tresa this week

Dates to Remember:

Monday, October 12: Tether balls return to the playground (4th grade remind your students to put them out and bring them in each day)

Wednesday, October 14: Grades due

Friday, October 16: Report cards go home

Monday, October 19: Flu Clinic in the safe room
