APRIL - 2021
A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
Due to the rising number of students absent for quarantine or isolation, our staff will be turning on Google Meet each day for students to listen to class remotely. Below is what students should keep in mind if attempting to access class remotely.
Teachers will confirm the proper link for students to use when remoting into the classroom lesson. The remote link will be open as close to the beginning of class as possible.
Remember our in-person class times:
1st hour: 8:05-8:56a
2nd hour: 9:01-9:47a
3rd hour: 9:52-10:38a
4th hour: 10:43-11:29a
5th hour: 11:34-12:20p
6th hour: 12:25-1:16p
Please also keep in mind that between classes, teachers have to sanitize desks and prepare instructional materials. We appreciate students’ patience as our teachers conduct both an in-person classroom while providing remote access, simultaneously.
When attending remotely, students are asked to mute their microphones and turn cameras off during class time (unless the teacher provides different instructions). This will help reduce unintentional interruptions and distractions.
If you have questions when attending class remotely, you should join the Academic Support/Office Hours available Monday-Thursday from 2:00 to 3:00 pm. The Google Meet chat will not be available during remote classes.
When recording attendance, any student not present in class (in-person) will be marked absent. Accessing class remotely on an in-person day does not mean you are present. If a parent chooses to keep their student home, they should communicate with the attendance office to EXCUSE their student. Students placed in quarantine will have their absence marked as EXTENUATING. Students remain responsible for all assignments, assessments, due dates, and classroom information.
Please remain patient with our teachers as they implement this new process for providing classroom access. Just as our students have had to adjust, adapt, and persevere through ever-changing circumstances this past year, our teachers have continued to reinvent themselves as well. We are hopeful this latest change will better meet the needs of those who are left quarantined from our school building.
Sincerely,
Ms. Balbaugh

"TIPS AND TRICKS" FOR STUDENTS IN QUARANTINE
We recognize that it can be difficult for our students to be absent due to quarantine restrictions. Some of our students have been quarantined multiple times, and this can make learning even more challenging.
To help better navigate the quarantine experience, students should:
- "Tune into" class each hour
- Attend Office Hours every Monday-Thursday from 2-3pm
- Check school email multiple times during the school day for updates and information.
- Closely monitor Google classrooms.
- Students should email their teachers when they find out they are quarantined. Direct communication with teachers is the most effective way to stay connected to the classroom content when navigating extended time away from the classroom.
- Be patient as teachers begin the process of allowing students to remote into classroom lessons.
- Make note of assignments, assessments, deadlines, and due dates
EVERYONE MUST COMPLETE THE ONLINE REGISTRATION FOR 2021-2022
The 2021-22 online registration for Grand Blanc Schools is now available. ALL Parents are required to complete the annual online registration through your ParentVUE account prior to picking up schedules in August.
Please visit grandblancschools.org and click on “Online Registration” from the homepage.
Below is a brief summary of login instructions:
If you have a ParentVUE (or are unsure):

· If you have a ParentVUE account but do not remember your login, please call (810) 591-7335 and a staff member will be able to provide your username.
· If you know your username but have forgotten your ParentVUE password, you can click the “More Options” button below the login, then click “Forgot Password,” and the system will step you through resetting your password.
If you have never activated a ParentVUE account for any of your children:
· Please call (810) 591-7335 to receive an activation key
· Once you have an activation key, go to the site above and scroll down to follow the instructions to create a new ParentVUE account.
Once you login to ParentVUE:
1. Please verify that you are on the Current/Returning Student tab (do not create a new enrollment unless your student is new to the district).
2. Scroll through each screen to review and update all information on your student(s).
3. Electronically sign required forms.
4. Review all information then click SUBMIT at the bottom.
Please call if you do not have access to a computer or have any questions about registration.
