Updates From Mr. Bucher
New Security Measures At Holicong
As we continue to review our safety procedures at Holicong, we recently installed a buzz-in system on the Main Office door. If we recognize you from prior visits, we will simply buzz you in so that you can enter the office. If we don’t recognize you, we will ask you to state why you need entry (drop off a lunch, attend a meeting, etc.) to the office and ask for identification. We ask you for your assistance and patience as we adjust to our new procedures.
Pennies For Patients!
Holicong’s National Junior Honor Society has joined forces with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) in support of its “Pennies for Patients” school program. The program encourages students to collect pennies for patients battling leukemia and other blood cancers. These illnesses take the life of one American every ten minutes.
Holicong hopes to inspire students to meet a fundraising goal of $1200 during the 8-day campaign, which will fund a year’s worth of patient aid for two people.
Each homeroom will collect as many coins (or dollars!) as possible during the campaign. The top fundraising homeroom of the school will receive a party of their choice, while the top fundraising homerooms in each grade will win an iPod listening resource.
In working with LLS, Holicong can help find a cure for blood related cancers - illnesses that have affected the lives of many in the Holicong community. Please join us in the fight!

From The Health Office.....
For 7th grade students currently in PE classes (and their parents)
Scoliosis screenings will be performed on Tues. or Wed. January 15th or 16th DURING PE class. This is a visual inspection of the back so students are encouraged to wear something easy to remove and put back on. Girls are encouraged to wear a sports bra, cami, or bathing suit top under their school clothes.
If you do not want your 7th grade student screened for scoliosis please send a note to Mrs. Radice, Holicong's School Nurse, by Tuesday or Wednesday AM.
Those 7th grade students who do not have PE class at this time will be screened later this spring.
Please contact Mrs. Radice with any questions or concerns (267-893-2740 or firstname.lastname@example.org).
10th Grade Program Planning
Over the next four weeks, all high school students in the Central Bucks School District will be entering their course requests for the following year through the Portal (additional information about the Parent/Student Portal can be found on the district website on the Student Resources tab).
Students received program planning course recommendations in school on January 4th.
Counselors will meet with the students after they have entered their course requests to ensure that the correct courses were selected and they meet district requirements for graduation. During the period when the Registration option is available through the Student Portal (January 10th through February 10th), students and parents can contact Mrs. Louderback with any questions or concerns via email or telephone. Mrs. Louderback will also hold multiple question/answer sessions during 9th grade lunch.
