Parent School Climate Survey online through March 10
The Aledo ISD is asking all Aledo ISD parents and guardians to complete an online survey that will address topics such as engagement, safety and climate in your child’s schools. These surveys are completely anonymous; we will only ask that you identify which campus you are completing the survey about.
Your feedback and opinions are very important to us, and we use data from this survey to better understand your expectations and areas that we can improve to better serve our Bearcat students and families.
That survey is open now through 4 p.m. on Friday, March 10, 2023.
PLEASE CLICK HERE TO BEGIN TAKING THE ALEDO ISD PARENT SURVEY
Please fill out the survey once for each campus where you have a child attending; so if you have a child at McCall Elementary, McAnally Middle School and Aledo High School, you would fill out the survey three times, selecting a different campus each time. Click here if you need survey-taking tips and/or assistance.
If you have any trouble taking the survey, please email support+ALEDOISD@panoramaed.com.
Again, the link to take this Aledo ISD Parent Survey is active through 4 p.m. on Friday, March 10, 2023. Thank you for your participation!
In this space each month, Aledo ISD will be giving our readers the Bearcats Safe Update - a look into some of the safety measures in place in the district. Please note that there are many aspects to safety in the district, and these are just a few examples. Please visit our website at www.aledoisd.org/safety for detailed information on the Standard Response Protocol and much more related to safety.
February 2023 UPDATE
- So far during the 2022-2023 school year, campus police officers have conducted 1,750 door checks districtwide. Each police officer conducts these checks daily, confirming that doors that are to remain locked are locked and functioning appropriately.
- To date, 1,928 volunteers have been trained, and they have logged an incredible 13,084 volunteer hours supporting our children and staff in the district!
- All Aledo ISD campuses have conducted required fire (evacuate), secure, lockdown, and shelter drills to date.

AHS sophomore wins FWSSR Calf Scramble scholarship
AHS sophomore Alexa Rohe received great news this week when she learned that she was one of 14 students who earned a $12,000 scholarship from the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo Calf Scramble program!
Alexa caught a calf at the stock show last year, receiving $500 to go toward the purchase of a breeding heifer. For the next 11 months, Alexa had to write monthly reports and budget analysis sheets to her donor and to the Fort Worth Calf Scramble for updates on how her heifer was doing, how she was doing, what she was learning, what struggles she was facing and overall how her heifer project was going.
To end the year, she had to complete a end-of-the-year essay over her overall experience with her breeding heifer that she had been raising and showing all over the state of Texas. Alexa’s reports, expense sheets and essays were then read over by a committee and compared to the other 250 students who caught in the calf scramble. Through this hard work, she was selected as one of 14 students to earn a $12,000 scholarship.
"To say we are proud of this young lady and her hard work and dedication is a complete understatement!" Ag teacher Wacey Horton said "She went through obstacles that many would have quit over but she pushed through and came out successful each time."
AHS Students Have Photographs Featured in "Best of" Book
The Association of Texas Photography Instructors (ATPI) unveiled volume five of the Best of Texas Scholastic Photography at the winter conference held at UTA Friday, Feb. 24.
The book features images selected from almost 35,000 images submitted in ATPI contests during the past five years. It will be a resource for photographers throughout the world – not merely in Texas – for years to come.
Volume five features work from the following Aledo students and graduates who were taught by teachers Linda Greenwood and Emily Pyeatt Arnold: Ava Bathurst, Kaylee Halfmann, Megan Hoke, Alyssa Lively, Chloe Mahle, Alex Mount, Reagan Petersen, Marissa Powell, Jordan Prokell and Taylor Tiberg.
Kaylee Halfmann’s image was selected for the book’s jacket cover. The image of the girls track team practicing was also featured in the 2022 Ledoian.
Since 1990, ATPI has worked with students and instructors in more than 4,9000 high schools and middle schools in the state to achieve a higher quality of knowledge and teaching of photography.

Aledo PTO needs YOUR feedback!
Currently, Aledo PTO exists as one districtwide Parent-Teacher Organization, but there is a local presence at every campus within Aledo ISD. This means that no matter which campus your children attend, your campus is covered by Aledo PTO and has groups there with a mission to serve and supplement the needs at that campus! Whether you are familiar with the districtwide Aledo PTO or only have experience with PTO at the schools your children attend, we would like your input! Aledo PTO is in the process of reorganizing to serve Aledo ISD in the most effective way. We would love your feedback to help us in this process. As Aledo ISD grows and new families join us, we want to grow and change, too!
Click here to take the Aledo PTO survey, and thank you for your input and participation!
