Geography

China is a quite large country its total land area is 9,596,961 km. It stretches 3,250 mi from east to west and 3,400 mi from north to south. Next, the climate is very diverse, it ranges from tropical in the south to subarctic in the north. Also, China is bordered by multiple seas and other bodies of water, such as the Yellow Sea and East China Sea, plus many more. Continuing with water, the Yangzi river is the longest river in China and the third longest river in the world. And the main cause of rainfall in China is the seasonal monsoons. Moving to China's land now, China is mostly mountainous, also it has one of the highest and lowest points on Earth. Tupan Pendi being lowest at -154 m below sea level, and Mount Everest being the highest at 8,850 m above sea level, which is located on the border of China.

Culture

Language

In China 7 different languages are spoken, with 80 different dialects. Also Mandarin Chinese is the official language of The Peoples' Republic of China.

Arts and Literature

Porcelain pottery was one of the first forms of art during the paleolithic period in China. Continuing, another form of Arts and Literature is Chinese calligraphy, and is widely used in Chinese culture.

Government

China's government is a Communist state. The chief of state is President Xi Jinping and the Vice President is Li Yuanchao

Economic Systems

China's largest labor force is by services, 35.7%. China's economy is growing and is starting to rise above the U.S.

Religion

Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism are "The three teachings". Also, Chinese Buddhism has developed since the first century and is the most influential religion in China.

Customs and Traditions

Different social classes wear different clothes. Also, most social values come from Confucianism and Taoism (religion).

Social Organization

The Chinese usually live in extended families with their sons and their sons' families and their unmarried daughters.
