This act outlawed voting practices used to discriminate against African Americans, like literacy tests and voter intimidation.Since 1965, the voting rihgts act has been protecting racial and language minorities access to voting. it requires jurisdictions that have a history for discrimitiry voting oractices to obtain approval or prelerance before changing election laws. eel

this act allowed all american citizens to vote. They were able to vote no matter race, gender, or if they were able to read and write. Just cause you cant read or right the best dosent mean you dont know anything about politics.
