Catholic Schools Week Service Project

As a school, each grade level at SFA has adopted a homeless Veteran to support. These men are about to graduate from Passageways, a homeless Veteran's shelter. Passageways provides all the necessities that someone needs in order to get back on their feet. Here is a great article about some of work they do. As a service project, SFA has decided to help provide some of the items that these men need. In order to sign up on sign up genius, click here to see what items still need to be donated. Ask your child about the Veteran that the 5th graders got to adopt and donate items to!

Valentine's Day Parties

Valentine's Day Parties are just around the corner! On February 11th (just under two weeks from now) we will be having our Valentine's Day Parties in our homerooms. They will be from 2:45 - 3:15. We will be sending out reminders soon to those who volunteered to help out. While on this, please have your child start making their valentine's box/bag. Shoe boxes or even cereal boxes work great! Please make sure that your student has enough valentines for the number of students in their homeroom. 5A: 27 plus teacher; 5B: 26 plus teacher; and 5C: 26 plus teacher

Behavior

Across the board, the 5th grade team has been noticing that the behavior of the 5th grade students has become an issue. They have been very talkative in class, in the hallways and any chance they can get to talk. This appeared after Christmas break and we thought we could curb it with reminders and going over the class rules, but there has not been much improvement. We ask you to discuss this matter with your child and encourage them to be a class leader with their behavior. As some of you may have noticed, we are giving grades in direct correlation to your child’s behavior. Please make conduct a priority to your child so we can team together to ensure good grades and respectful behavior.
