Free Jazz Performance on Friday

The ShamROCK Jazz Ensemble is performing a FREE concert at the Niles Riverfront Amphitheater off of Water Street in Niles, MI on Friday, May 10, 2019. The Shamrocks will take the stage at 3:00pm. They are performing as part of an afternoon-long jazz festival on the riverfront hosted by Niles High School. There will be food trucks and a t-shirt vendor available for concert-goers. Come down and enjoy an afternoon of Jazz Music! Go Shamrocks!

Spring Concert Approaching!

Wednesday, May 15th is our final concert of the year. Our theme this year is "Destination: Vacation!" and we are eager to share with you music from popular travel destinations.

The concert will be held in the high school gymnasium at 7pm. Students need to arrive dressed in their concert uniforms by 6:30pm. We will be reissuing clean shirts to the 6th grade this week. Please have your student try on their uniform (to make sure it still fits!) and locate their black socks and black shoes. If your student is a 6th grader, they will need to have black pants/skirt for their uniform as well as black socks/nylons and black shoes.

We will need a couple of parents per grade to sit with/by the students to help us curb extra talking and cell phone usage. If you would like to help, please email Mrs. Rosselit (krosselit@homeoftheshamrocks.org), Mr. Emeigh (aemeigh@homeoftheshamrocks.org) or Sherri Keene (slkeene32@yahoo.com).

BCYF Korn Dog Booth

I know it's only May, but it's time to think about the Berrien County Youth Fair and The Korn Dog booth! This is the perfect opportunity to earn money for your students' band account and this opportunity is available to Middle School families as well as High School families. The money can be used to pay for band camp, new Drill Masters (marching shoes), field trips the band takes, just about anything you can think of! Workers need to be 18 years old BUT a 16 or 17 year old can work IF the parent/guardian works the same shift with them. You can also have grandparents, aunts, uncles or family friends work for your student.

State Band Festival Shirts and Recordings

High School and 8th grade Parents,

Your student was given two order forms to take home last week, one for a recording of their performance and one for a commemorative t-shirt.

If those order forms didn't make it home, below are digital copies you can print out and send in with your student.

The order form for the recordings you send directly to the company.

The t-shirt order form comes back to us. We will compile the t-shirt orders and do one large order on Friday, May 17th. The shirts are gray and will have the MSBOA State Band Festival Logo and our school's name in Kelly Green and White. All you have to select is the kind of shirt you want (short-sleeve, long-sleeve, or sweatshirt) and the quantity of shirts you want.

Send the order form and payment in by Friday, May 17th.
