Monday, June 10, 2019, will be our last day of school for the 2018-2019 year. Where did the time go? We like to celebrate the amazing year we have had with a number of fun activities. On the last day of school students will attend an end of year assembly and may participate in extended recess, a rousing game of all-school bingo presented on Olive-TV, and signing of yearbooks or autograph sheets (generously purchased for all students by the PTA).

At the end of the day, we will send off our 5th-grade students in style with a human tunnel. This has become a tradition at OMS, and we are hoping parents can join us! At approximately 3:25 pm we will dismiss our 5th-grade students through a human tunnel of kindergarten through 4th-grade students. The tunnel will begin near the front doors and wrap around to the playground. All OMS parents are welcome to join the end of the tunnel to high-five our 5th grade students as we send them off to SMS & TMS. After the tunnel, parents may meet their children at the grade level reunification areas. In the case of inclement weather, the tunnel will be set up inside and students will exit the building through the gym doors that lead to the playground.

Students, let’s keep our reading skills strong by enjoying some good books over the summer! The LMC staff encourages you to participate in at least one summer reading program either at OMS or at the Arlignton Heights Memorial Library. Soon, a letter explaining our program and a reading log will go home with students.
