CHS Student Services/School Counseling Program Mission

The mission of the Chester High School Student Services Office, in collaboration with other stakeholders, is to ensure a safe and supportive environment that supports all students by providing a comprehensive and developmental school counseling program that addresses each student’s unique academic, career and social-emotional needs, & helps them develop meaningful, responsible and productive lives which empower them to experience lifelong success in a changing society.

General School Counseling Program Goals

  • Assist students in becoming responsible adults who can develop realistic and fulfilling life plans based on a clear understand of themselves & their needs and their needs, interests, and skills;
  • Assist students in creating, managing and updating education/career plans in accordance with their post-high school education and career goals;
  • Assist students in further developing their competency in decision-making, career planning, working with others, and taking responsibility for their own behavior.
