BHMS Principal's Update 11/13/22
Recapping the Week at the Hill
Keeping Up with What is Going on at the Hill!!!
Hi Bulldog Families,
First and Foremost, we want to thank our veterans this weekend. Our veterans are near and dear to our hearts as many of the Bulldog families and staff have military connections. Please know we have profound reverence for those who served and continue to serve. On behalf of all the Bulldogs, we thank you. Our flags displayed on campus and the flags in our atrium that represent each branch of service are small ways we remember the sacrifice of so many.
Separately, we want to thank you for reading the letter sent the other day regarding expectations and support we need to guide our students properly. Many of you have had conversations with your children over the weekend regarding Wednesday's assembly. I thank you immensely for continuing the conversation. During the assembly we talked about our expectation as Bulldogs and discussed a problem with students who are using racially charged language in a cavalier manner. We plan to have other activities linked to our monthly Building Better Bulldog exercises to ensure education is continuing regarding our character.
Dr. Muscelli and I maintain the expectation that Bulldogs should and need to be the highest of ethics, and we are confident that each Bulldog will continue to work toward doing the right thing. If you did not get an opportunity to read my letter to families, please review it at this link: Letter to Families 11/8/22.
Lastly, and as always, this newsletter highlights some of the things happening throughout the next several weeks. Thanks again for your constant support so we can provide the best experience for your children/our students. It was really special seeing all of you last week at the What's the Scoop PTO fundraiser. Hope all had a wonderful weekend
Sincerely,
Mike D'Ostilio

ON THE ATHLETICS PAGE....
Make sure you review the "Participation Information" as well as "Forms and Paperwork." Reminder:
- A student cannot try out or practice for any sport without a verified athletic physical.
- Physicals must be in at least 3-4 weeks prior to the first practice. It takes at least 3 weeks to review. The nurse has to verify the form, then send it to the district doctor who reviews the form. Sometimes the doctor does not endorse the physical and asks the nurse to go back to the families for more information. This could be a long process.
- Wrestling Practices begin 11/29. Basketball tryouts are the first week of December.
- Contact Coach Falzone ( kfalzone@wtps.org ) for Wrestling. Coach Meo (mmeo@wtps.org) and Coach Heston (mheston@wtps.org) for girls basketball and Coach Hillard (khillard@wtps.org) for boys basketball.
- Also, if your child would like to participate in the BHMS Get Moving or Dance Clubs, your child also needs a physical.

Building Better Bulldogs (3Bs) Mission and Vision
This pandemic has created so many questions and concerns for students that are well beyond academics. We are committed to providing a safe environment where students can express themselves as they question the ebb and flow of their world around them. Please see below our affirmations about Buidling Better Bulldogs and the people we as Bulldogs aim to be.
