Friday, May 4, 2018
Please know that YOU are the best around! It is awesome to see your interaction with students and witness the light bulb moments that happen in your classroom on the ball fields and/or in the hallways.
We celebrate you this week, but know you are appreciated each and everyday for your hard work and efforts. We have some lucky students and I am very fortunate to work with you on a daily basis, as well!
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO! Happy Staff Apprectiation Week! May you feel loved and appreciated, especially this week! As a small token of my appreciation...feel free to wear jeans EVERY day, MONDAY - FRIDAY!

Hospitality - Our Family! / General Reminders
Registration is NOW OPEN for Run United!!!!! The link to register is below. Please seen Nurse Mears to pay for your registration. We are also in need of volunteers for the event. We need a lot of timers, directors for the 5K, people to register onsite runners/take money, and people to hand out water at the water stations and at the finish lines. Also need an announcer for all the events! If you are interested in volunteering, please email Mrs. Emily Smith at esmith2@scotland.k12.nc.us.
One of our very own Spartans is expecting a new bundle of joy -- Deputy Grant and his wife Yolun are expecting a baby girl this July. The Spring Hill staff is invited to a Baby Shower on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Unionville Missionary Baptist Church, Laurinburg, NC at 5:00 p.m. They are registered at Wal-Mart and Target. Please RSVP to Deputy Grant if you are able to attend. Thanks!
Please keep Mr. Knauss and Mrs. T. Johnson in your prayers. Both of their mothers are sick and need your support/prayers!
Please keep Mrs. Fehlman's son in your prayers. He was injured on the job this week and is suffering from a broken leg and foot.
We need help getting proctors...Do you know of anyone that could help? Churches? Businesses? Family? Please see Mr. Dunham.
- Our current attendance rate for the year is at 96%. The month of February was our lowest attendance rate of the year at 90%. Our goal this year is 97%. We need you here! Please let me know how I can support you in helping us meet our attendance goal.
If you are not on salary installments, you will be seeing double deductions in April and May for health, dental and vision and in your last paycheck in May. If want to be on installments next year, please fill out form on the SCS website by July 31. https://www.scotland.k12.nc.us/Page/395
- ATTENTION: Please do not send school-wide emails without administrator approval. This includes game changes, plate sales, general announcements, etc.
- REPORT CARDS - In reviewing student report cards, there are class after class that doesn't have a comment. Please know that comments are an expectation to provide parents feedback, good or bad.
- If students communicate suicidal or homicidal intentions to you, your FIRST point of contact should be an administrator IMMEDIATELY. Do NOT email administration. Call for them in the front office and inform staff that it is an emergency.
- Teachers, mark your calendars! We will need you for remediating and re-testing at the end of the year. Please make plans to be available to help out. We usually see HUGE gains in proficiency with strategic planning!!! (After EOGs and on the work days for retesting)
Make sure to notify administration or Mrs. Fehlman when you suspect child abuse or neglect. See the agreement between SCS and DSS here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/11pVs4aMBIqUxqPBjfVgXJZtMOg9LaEzHGrc-ICsha-E/edit
