What is an absentee ballot?

An absentee ballot completed and typically mailed in advance of an election by a voter who is unable to be present at the polls.

You can register early by...

  1. Provide an email address.
  2. Provide your identification number: MN-issued driver's license, Minnesota ID card or last 4 digits of Social Security Number.
  3. "one-stop" voting period. Received 30 days before the election. Mailed voter registration forms received after the deadline will be accepted as long as the mail is postmarked on or before the voter registration deadline.
