Reminder for Parents (and Students)
As the weather becomes warmer, we would like to remind you to send a labeled water bottle with your student's name.
Also, please be mindful of what your children are wearing to school. Here is our dress code for your reference:
All students shall come to school in a comfortable manner that allows them to be authentically who they are, while also complying with our equitable dress code policy.
All students are expected to dress appropriately for the academic environment and maintain an elementary school appropriate appearance. Clothing must not be disruptive to the learning environment (which will be up to staff discretion) and provide adequate coverage of the body (more clearly, a student's chest area, belly, and behind need to be covered).
Students are required to meet the standards of health and safety. Students must wear closed toe shoes. We encourage children to wear sneakers since they will be going outside for P.E. and recess.
More specifics:
Make up is not elementary school appropriate.
Strap width and length of shorts/skirts/dresses will not be a focus as long as there is adequate coverage for areas that should be covered at school.
Hats may be worn inside as long as they do not become a distraction, which will be up to staff discretion.
Parents will be contacted if there is a concern about inappropriate elementary school clothing being worn and will be asked to provide a change of clothing if needed.
