1930 Dust Bowl

Event Description
The dust bowl started 1930`s it was 150,000 square-mile-area.The drought struck from 1931 to 1939.The storms are called black blizzards!The primary area impact was on the Western plains the Northern plains weren't hit that bad than the southern plains.For eight years the south dust blew on the Southern plains.It looks like a yellowish-brown haze and walls of black from the north.
Ecological Impact
The Dust Bowl brought ecological, economic an human misery to america a time when it was already suffering under the Great Depression. Extended drought, high temperatures, poor agriculture practices. Made wind erosion all contributed to making the Dust Bowl. They had a loss of fertile top soil that literally blew away in the wind.
Restoration Effort
The dust bowl taught farmers new farming methods and techniques.They learned to take care of their land. Some farmers had to remove their acers of natural grass sod .Then planted wheat during the last 8 years of the drought.
