PHS Mission & Vision

Principal's Message
This week is Teacher Appreciation Week and we have incredible teachers and educators of various titles at Pleasanton High School. I ask you to take a minute to complete a positive note for one or more PHS staff members who you appreciate. Teachers are also struggling during this time of distance learning because they miss the day to day connections with your children. Please lift their spirits by giving them a shout out.
Please know we want to do everything we can to ease any stress you are feeling related to school work at home and help find solutions to any barriers our students are encountering. I am including new links to resources as well as some important reminders about distance learning expectations for Pleasanton High School students.
Here are our two goals for the last few weeks of distance learning with your student:
- Our primary goal is to keep all students engaged in learning so they can receive credit for their classes this spring semester. Nearly every student is comfortable with the technology we have been using. If your student has not been able to access Google Classroom or you are having difficulty getting them to complete work please call or email us. I'm including the best contact information for administrators and counselors below.
- Our second goal is to end the school year as normally as possible by celebrating achievements, returning personal items to students, and collecting items from students. We will still recognize academic achievements this school year by presenting Academic Awards virtually in the last two weeks of school and holding the 2020 PHS Graduation ceremony. Also, teachers are beginning to pack up classrooms for the end of the year and will be delivering student items to the front office for pick up. Lastly, our front office will also serve as a location to return items to the school such as library books, calculators, textbooks and other classroom resources checked out to students.
Please share with your student that we still miss them like crazy and can't wait to see them again. Daily, students and their families continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. Please feel free to contact me directly at my email link below if you have any questions specific to high school, suggestions or words of praise for our staff members! If you have general questions about COVID-19, school provided meals, or school closures please email covid-19@pisd.us . If you need technology assistance please email technology@pisd.us and leave a contact phone number for someone to call you.
Sincerely,
Twila M. Guajardo
