Reminders:
Dress Code Reminders
- Each year Jesse Owens sells a Spirit shirt as a fundraiser - usually associated with he theme of the year. We ask that on Fridays that students wear a JOES Spirit shirt purchased from JOES any year ( past spirit shirts are acceptable). Again, this is a fundraiser and we will have special days for other shirts like GHS shirts. Also, on Tech Tuesday (any Tuesday) for $1 any shirt can be worn.- Sweatshirts, jackets to be worn in the building must be solid uniform colors with no writing OR JOES sweatshirts. No Hoodies are allowed.
ID Reminder:
- Students need their Id for several reasons:
- scan for breakfast.
- scan for lunch.
- Log into Google Classroom.
- Check out a library book.
-Return a library book.
The cost of replacement:
- $3 for an ID
- $2 lanyard (must be School issued)
- $1 for the plastic ID holder.
For a total of $6 if you need everything.
It would be a huge help if students kept their ID in the same place in their bookstack every day. That way when they get to school for breakfast they know exactly where it is.
Thank you for your support.

VPSB Mendoza Car Raffle
CAR RAFFLE
The Mendoza Car Raffle is a wonderful opportunity for Jesse Owens to raise money. Each year this is by far our biggest fundraiser. Last Year JOES sold 900 tickets.
This year there are some fantastic prizes - besides the Ford Bronko. We are looking to surpass last years 900 with a GOAL of 920. If every student sold at least 5 tickets we could easily reach that goal. Every little bit helps so Thank you all for working so hard to help support JOES.
Fundraisers
All Fundraisers help provide funds for instructional materials, operating expenses, motivational incentives for students and staff, and other expenses that are not funded through other sources.
Jean Days: Students may wear blue jeans (NO SHORTS) for $1 on Fridays with a JOES Spirit Shirt or uniform shirt. JOES spirit shirts can be worn every Friday for free with uniform bottoms. (Only the jeans cost $1- $35 for the year)
