Holidays, instructional schedule & food service

With the upcoming holidays and non-student days, we wanted to provide clarity around instructional start and end times, as well as food service availability. Changes will be in effect for the following dates:


Wednesday, November 11 – Veterans Day

  • There is no school on Wednesday, November 11.
  • Elementary (preschool-grade 6) - There are no changes to the elementary weekly schedule. Students will follow the same weekly schedule on Monday, November 9, Tuesday, November 10, Thursday, November 12 and Friday, November 13.
  • Secondary (grades 7-12)– Monday, November 9 and Tuesday, November 10 will be standard days for in-person and remote learning, Thursday, November 12 will be Periods 1-3, and Friday, November 13 will be Periods 4-6.
  • In-person services – Monday, November 9, Tuesday, November 10 and Thursday, November 12 will be standard days. Service normally offered on Wednesday, November 11 will be offered on Friday, November 13.
  • Food service will not be available on Wednesday, November 11. Students receiving meals on Tuesday, November 10, will receive meals for both days.


Week of November 22 - Thanksgiving Week

  • Monday, November 23 and Tuesday, November 24 are standard days for both remote and in-person learning.
  • There is no school on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27.
  • Elementary (preschool-grade 6) – Wednesday, November 25 will follow an early release schedule after the morning instructional block from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Office Hours and Music/Library and/or PE will not be available on this day.
  • Secondary (grades 7-12) – Wednesday, November 25 will follow the Friday schedule with Periods 1-6 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Office Hours and Small Group Time will not be available on this day.
  • Food service will not be available on Thursday, November 26, and Friday, November 27. Students receiving meals on Wednesday, November 25, will receive meals for the three days.

Friday, December 18, 2020 - The early-release day prior to the start of Winter Break

  • Elementary (preschool-grade 6) – Friday, December 18 will follow an early-release schedule after the morning instructional block from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Office Hours and Music/Library and/or PE will not be available on this day.
  • Secondary (grades 7-12) – Friday, December 18 will follow the standard Friday schedule with Periods 1-6 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Office Hours and Small Group Time will not be available on this day.


Monday, December 21-Friday, January 1 - Winter Break

  • There will be no school during Winter Break (December 21-January 1).
  • Food service will not be available from Monday, December 21 through Friday, January 1.
  • Food service will resume on Monday, January 4.


Monday, January 18, 2021 – MLK Jr. Day

  • There is no school on Monday, January 18.
  • Elementary (preschool-grade 6) – There are no changes to the elementary weekly schedule. Students will follow the same weekly schedule on Tuesday, January 19, Wednesday, January 20, Thursday, January 21 and Friday, January 22.
  • Secondary (grades 7-12) – Tuesday, January 19 and Thursday, January 21 will be Periods 1-3. Wednesday, January 20 and Friday, January 22 will be Periods 4-6.
  • In-person services – Tuesday, January 19, Wednesday, January 20 and Thursday, January 21 will be standard days. Service normally offered on Monday, January 18 will be offered on Friday, January 22.
  • Food service will not be available on Monday, January 18.


Looking even further into 2021, we wanted you to make you aware of the potential for change to Spring Conference Week/Spring Break 2021 schedule.


Week of March 28 - Spring Conference Week

  • The district has not made a decision around Spring Conference Week, but due to the uncertainty around COVID-19, we feel the need to let our students and families know as soon as possible about a potential change. At this time, please plan on this week to be a five-day instructional week (same as the 2020 Fall Conference Week schedule).


Week of April 4 – Spring Break Week

  • There will be no school during Spring Break (April 5-9).

Join us for Office Hours

Office Hours are available every Monday through Friday as a resource to students and parents/guardians. Teachers are available by Zoom, phone and email to have discussions and answer questions. Students not participating in Office Hours availability are encouraged to use this time to complete self-guided work.

We have a dedicated phone line for student/family computer/laptop support for district-issued devices. Students and families can call 360-563-3000 for live technical support from:

  • 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Thursday
  • 7:30-11:30 a.m., Friday
