Notes from Gina

Hello Pierremont Famlies,

Next week we are excited to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week! Never before have our teachers been so challenged. We are navigating a global pandemic and, most recently, a proposal for future Middle School Boundary changes. Our teachers are giving their very best and navigating beautifully. In honor of Teacher Appreciation, the students had the opportunity to write notes to teachers during their lunchtime. The letters will be delivered next week. We are always grateful for the support and love our community gives the school. See below if you are looking for ways to celebrate our amazing teachers.

If you were not able to attend the Middle School Boundary Proposal seminar this past Tuesday, the meeting was recorded, and the topics included were:

  • More information based on the questions and feedback the district is receiving.
  • Time to answer questions from parents and staff during the meeting
  • More discussion of the high school impact of any boundary change. The district proposed the students from Pierremont attend West High School.

We know many questions and concerns remain. You can keep updated on district communications, view recorded webinars, and submit questions or concerns through the Parkway website here. Also, never hesitate to reach out to me by phone at 314-415-6601 or email.

I hope you have a fantastic weekend and get to enjoy some quality time!

Gina

INFORMATION FOR EVERYONE

Returning School Materials Sent Home at Start of the Year

At the start of the year, teachers sent home learning materials while we were in distance learning. As we wind down for the school year, please be on the lookout for any school-issued materials still at home. For example, math manipulatives, dry erase boards or books. You can send the materials to school with your child at any time. Please contact your child's teacher with questions.

Summer School Information

Fun awaits this summer at Parkway Summer School! Elementary students can participate in enrichment classes offered through Parkway-Rockwood Community Ed during each week of summer school. See the attached flyer for more information and register for summer school enrichment classes today.

For questions about summer school enrichment classes, contact Community Ed at info@prcommunityed.org or by phone or text at 636-891-6644.

INFORMATION FOR VIRTUAL CAMPUS

PARENT POINTERS-TECHNOLOGY AT OUR FINGERTIPS

Google Earth enables you to travel, explore, and learn about the world by interacting with a virtual globe. You can view satellite imagery, maps, terrain, 3D buildings, and much more.

Video Tutorial

Interact to Google Earth as a family!

  1. Relive family trip-drop markers on the most important places and describe them. Add personal photos and videos to make it more vivid.

  2. Plan a dream vacation-do the same thing as above, but instead, show where you would like to travel someday.

  3. Family History Timeline-show your family’s migration history.

  4. Find You on the Map-drop a marker on your house and family members homes. Use points of reference to identify scale and distance.

  • Chromebook Return for Students in Grades K-4: Chromebook, Chromebook charger, and Chromebook case returns will take place on Thursday, June 3rd from 1:30-2:00 PM with staff available for drive-through return.
