News from Silverton High School - May 19, 2023

From the Principal...

Hi Silverton High School Families,

It's been quite a busy week for our school. We wish our best to all our competitive student-athletes, clubs, and activities as they progress through their season. Good luck to all!

We are enjoying the sun and warm weather. That being said, please remind your students of our student dress code (see information below). We want students to be able to express themselves positively within the school's dress code.

Chat GBT AI is technology our students are accessing. We want to remind all our students to use all technology ethically and responsibly. Academic integrity is very important, and technology should be an accelerator of education.

Silverton High School was thrilled to welcome former University of Oregon quarterback and current Philadelphia Eagle Marcus Mariota to speak to our students. The accomplished athlete, renowned philanthropist, and role model addressed students in an inspiring and motivational talk, encouraging them to pursue their dreams and positively impact their communities.

Marcus Mariota's visit had a major impact on the students at Silverton High School. Senior Sam Clements said, "I really appreciated how he focused on remembering where you came from and giving back to your community." Senior Dylan Scott, "I appreciated Marcus's words of advice about enjoying high school and this chapter of our life. It made me more aware of the situation I am in, and I enjoyed hearing some of his wisdom."

Mahalo, Marcus Mariota, and his family for visiting Silverton High School today!

Have a great weekend!
