No Scheduled 2-Hour Delay Tomorrow
During the school year, we have a 2-hour late start the first Wednesday of each month. I wanted to make sure that everyone was aware that we DO NOT have a 2-hour delay for the month of January. We heard students talking about having a delay tomorrow, so we wanted to make sure everyone was informed that there is not a delay for tomorrow. School will start at 7:15.
NEW Absence Phone Number
Lakeview Jr. High got a new phone system over the winter break. We ask that you please have patience over the next week or two as we learn the new system and get some of the "bugs" worked out. With this change; however, our attendance number was changed. So, to call in your child's absence, please dial, 614-830-2201.
Handmade Hat Donations
Lakeview students saw a need and took action to help those less fortunate. Mrs. Broz-England’s High School Visual Arts class had an interest in making hats to keep those in need warm during the cold winter season. Using sewing machines and stitching by hand, students made over 40 fleece hats. Each student was encouraged to take one hat home for his/her use or to give as a gift and the remaining hats went to the Violet Township fire department for donation.
Blizzard Bags and Inclement Weather Days
There may be days when PLSD delays or cancels school due to inclement weather. Please make sure your contact information and preferences are up to date in Infinite Campus so that you get the most timely notifications. Complete information about Calamity Days is found on the PLSD website at CALAMITY DAYS. If we miss a school day between now and President's Day, February, 19, school will be in session on President's Day, so please plan accordingly.

Tips for Cell Phones and Social Media
I received this email that I thought had some practical ideas for teenagers, cell phones and social media. There is a great deal of power that comes with a cell phone, and too often teenagers don't realize or need to be reminded of their responsibilities with cell phones and most especially, social media. It never hurts to get some new ideas or reminders for ourselves, as parents.
