Principal's Message
The team at Ford would like to thank all of the parents and guardians that participated in
Student Led Conferences last month. We hope you found it a valuable use of your time. Please remember that you are able to speak with your student’s teacher at any time about their academic progress. The best way to contact teachers is via email. Our first quarter of school is quickly coming to an end. The last day of the quarter is November 4th and report cards will be mailed out a week to 10 days after that date.

Hello families!
We are a quarter of the way through our year already! We hope that your students are adjusting well to this school year. This is a great time to make sure you are checking on your student’s grades, attendance, tardiness, and classroom behaviors.
Did you know that we have opportunities built into our schedule to help kids get caught up or retake tests? YES! Tuesdays and Thursdays students can go to specific teachers during the Learning Lab time to get specific help or retake a test.
Almost more importantly, your child’s emotional well-being is a big deal to us. Have you talked with your child about how they are doing? How do they feel in the classroom, hallways, or other areas of the building. Does your child have a trusted adult that they can report things to should they need to? Have they talked with you about concerns? If so, do YOU know who to go to? Sometimes our kids tolerate a lot of things before they ask for help, and then they often minimize the impact. We want to encourage you guardians to advocate early for your child’s wellbeing. We are here to help, and take school safety and learning seriously, but we can’t help if we don’t know about it.
Getting involved in school spirit, sports, and clubs is a great way to build community and connection to school. Our leadership classes are doing a great job helping to build the positive climate at Ford! We would love to help your child get connected so they can enjoy these middle school years.
Please feel free to reach out to your child’s grade level counselor with any questions or concerns.
