Adjustment Counselor Corner
Seniors with 504 plans and IEPs who are planning to attend college next year should be thinking about connecting with their college’s Office of Disability Services (sometimes called accessibility services or something similar). The process to receive accommodations in college is different than it is in high school, starting with the fact that students need to disclose their disability to the college if they want to receive accommodations. Additionally, parents are not a part of this process, so students needs to self-advocate to receive accommodations.
This article shares a little more about some of the differences.
