MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL LAMBERT
What a wonderful first week of school! Our new buildings and playground are amazing and students are already showing they are serious about their learning. In addition to new Kindergarten families, we have several new families in other grades. Welcome to Mariano Castro! Back to School Night is an opportunity for all families to get acquainted with each other and with the teacher. Our goal is 100% attendance at Back to School Night.
Parents are a very important part of every child's education and I am looking forward to seeing all of you at our meetings, events, and parent workshops. Be a Five Star Family! Each time you attend a school event, it counts toward your Five Star Family Status. The goal is for every family to attend at least 5 school events. We will honor all Five Star Families at a dinner at the end of the school year.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please ask your child's teacher or me. We are here to help!
Best Regards,
Theresa Lambert

Drop off and Pick-up Procedures
Drop Off Procedures
Drop students in drop off lane in the Escuela Ave lot or in the drop off lane in the Toft St. lot.
If students are dropped off in the Escuela lot they must walk up the fire lane and enter Castro past the multi.
All students wait in line on the blacktop each morning.
Parents may park only in the Visitor parking spaces. These are very limited, so please plan on walking or using street parking. Do not park in staff parking areas.
All parents wait on the concrete outside the library on the side closest to Castro. When teachers bring their lines to the blacktop parents may come over to the blacktop and pick up their child.
All parents and students that are going to use the fire lane to go home
must leave on the east side of the multi (the side closest to Castro).
All parents and students that will be walking down Latham, must use the walkway in front of the office to get to the field (rather than crossing the blacktop to go in front of the preschool.)
Back to School Night
Castro's Back to School Night is Wednesday, August 29. Please join the teacher in the classroom to learn about the activities, routines, and expectations for this year. We will have two sessions: one at 6:00 p.m. and then a repeat at 6:45 p.m. It is important that all parents attend this evening. Your attendance also counts toward your Five Star Family status!
