Dr. Rath's Corner

Hello, Wildcat Families!

We are over the moon excited to see some of our Wildcats back at home! Our amazing ACP students came back on Wednesday, and students were all smiles behind their masks. We will be welcoming our A-K students in person on Monday, October 5th. Please see the schedule below to know when your student is attending our first week. Please remember to have your student bring their mask, iPad (with charger), and backpack upon their return. Our building looks beautiful, and we are well-supplied on health and safety signage, hand sanitizer, hand soap, etc. We are ready! Health and safety are our top priority, along with top notch instruction.

Quarter One Report cards are around the corner. Teachers will be reaching out soon to set up your virtual parent/teacher conference for October 14th from 3:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. or October 15th from 12 noon-6:30 p.m. There will be no school on Friday, October 16th.

Have a great weekend and we look forward to seeing all of our A-K Wildcats on October 5th.

Science Investigations - Volume 1

A huge Wildcat shout out to grade 7 for having the most student engagement for our first video challenge.

Mr. Galdamez, science coach, Mr. Shank, science teacher, and Dr. Rath, principal, will be doing a weekly experiment for our Wildcats to watch on Fridays. All the details will come on Wednesdays to students' email. Good luck!! You may be the lucky winner of one of our super cool new Wildcats' t-shirts.

Big shout out to Dillon Waldon, grade 7, for providing the most well-written and research-based solution last week!!

Back at School Starting October 5th!

The first day of in-person learning on October 5th is quickly approaching. We can't wait to meet and connect with our Wildcats in person! Our staff at KSTM is working diligently to ensure we are providing students with a safe learning environment. Included in this newsletter is important information to help you and your student prepare for what to expect with in-person learning in the Family 3/2 model. Here are a few reminders:

  1. Students MUST bring their iPad and charger to school every day.
  2. Students will not have access to a locker during the school day; they will be allowed to carry their backpack with them if they bring one to school.
  3. When students are at home learning, they will log in live to their class through Microsoft Teams just like they have been doing while we've been in remote learning. School will start at 7:40 and end at 3:05 for all students (in-person and remote) now that we are learning in the Family 3/2 Model.

See below for days students should report for the week of October 5th.

Counselor's Corner

Attendance Matters! Attend Every Class, Every Day, On Time! Call 531-299-2389 if your student will be absent.

The 2020-21 school year is in full swing, and we are excited to be connecting with our Wildcats! While we are enjoying seeing our students virtually, we can't wait to be learning in person again!

Regular school attendance is crucial to the development and education of students, even during remote learning. Daily engagement will ensure students are on track and prepared, especially as we look toward a return to in-person learning when it is possible. We expect all of our students to arrive on time every day to every class. Do you know the class schedule? See the photo below to better understand how to read a student schedule.

Attendance is being taken in every class, every day, for all students. If your student will be absent, even for remote learning, please contact the school's attendance secretary before 7:40 a.m. by calling 531-299-2389. If you leave a voicemail, please include your student's name and the reason for the absence. We appreciate your partnership and support and look forward to learning together in person soon.

We ask all staff and families to maintain distance whenever possible for the health and well-being of everyone.

The OPS Family Support Center will now be housed at Morton Middle School (4606 Terrace Dr. Omaha, NE 68134) from 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. on the following days:
