KSTM Bulletin
Week of 9/28/20 through 10/2/20
Dr. Rath's Corner
Hello, Wildcat Families!
We are over the moon excited to see some of our Wildcats back at home! Our amazing ACP students came back on Wednesday, and students were all smiles behind their masks. We will be welcoming our A-K students in person on Monday, October 5th. Please see the schedule below to know when your student is attending our first week. Please remember to have your student bring their mask, iPad (with charger), and backpack upon their return. Our building looks beautiful, and we are well-supplied on health and safety signage, hand sanitizer, hand soap, etc. We are ready! Health and safety are our top priority, along with top notch instruction.
Quarter One Report cards are around the corner. Teachers will be reaching out soon to set up your virtual parent/teacher conference for October 14th from 3:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. or October 15th from 12 noon-6:30 p.m. There will be no school on Friday, October 16th.
Have a great weekend and we look forward to seeing all of our A-K Wildcats on October 5th.

Science Investigations - Volume 1
A huge Wildcat shout out to grade 7 for having the most student engagement for our first video challenge.
Mr. Galdamez, science coach, Mr. Shank, science teacher, and Dr. Rath, principal, will be doing a weekly experiment for our Wildcats to watch on Fridays. All the details will come on Wednesdays to students' email. Good luck!! You may be the lucky winner of one of our super cool new Wildcats' t-shirts.
Big shout out to Dillon Waldon, grade 7, for providing the most well-written and research-based solution last week!!
Back at School Starting October 5th!
- Students MUST bring their iPad and charger to school every day.
- Students will not have access to a locker during the school day; they will be allowed to carry their backpack with them if they bring one to school.
- When students are at home learning, they will log in live to their class through Microsoft Teams just like they have been doing while we've been in remote learning. School will start at 7:40 and end at 3:05 for all students (in-person and remote) now that we are learning in the Family 3/2 Model.
See below for days students should report for the week of October 5th.

Class Times on Schedules in Infinite Campus
Attendance Matters! Attend Every Class, Every Day, On Time! Call 531-299-2389 if your student will be absent.
The 2020-21 school year is in full swing, and we are excited to be connecting with our Wildcats! While we are enjoying seeing our students virtually, we can't wait to be learning in person again!
Regular school attendance is crucial to the development and education of students, even during remote learning. Daily engagement will ensure students are on track and prepared, especially as we look toward a return to in-person learning when it is possible. We expect all of our students to arrive on time every day to every class. Do you know the class schedule? See the photo below to better understand how to read a student schedule.
Attendance is being taken in every class, every day, for all students. If your student will be absent, even for remote learning, please contact the school's attendance secretary before 7:40 a.m. by calling 531-299-2389. If you leave a voicemail, please include your student's name and the reason for the absence. We appreciate your partnership and support and look forward to learning together in person soon.

iPad Connectivity Issue?
- Turn on airplane mode, wait 10 seconds and then turn airplane mode off.
- Be sure you have any unused browser windows closed; the iPads do not run as smoothly when there are several browser windows opened.
How to Use the Dock on Your iPad
CANNOT LOG onto iPad
- Connect to home WiFi (it sometimes gets disconnected - go to settings and look for WiFi on the left hand side).
- Once connected, log in with student email address or 's' account followed by '@ops.org'
- If it is still not working, then type '.\' in the user name box and email the information circled in the picture along with the number off the back of your computer to our building technician at ksc-ts@ops.org.
- This will allow our building tech to do some troubleshooting remotely before having to bring a device up to the school.
CANNOT FIND MY CLASS (MEETING)
Look in these 2 places to find the JOIN button for your class.
1. Calendar in TEAMS (if not in here, go to TEAMS button and choose the class that you are supposed to be in).
2. "General" TEAMS Posts' page.
If a class says that it has been cancelled, look for another JOIN button.
CLASSES WILL NEVER BE CANCELLED!
TIPS
Participation in class is IMPORTANT. Please unmute and show your picture when you are asked to respond. If you don't want to show your picture, please type a response in the chat or just talk without your picture showing. Your teachers need to know you are actively engaged in class.
Office Hours: Join your teacher's office hours (remember it is a different team than the actual class) to get help, get questions answered, and chat with your teachers. All teachers host office hours from 10:45 - 11:30 and 2:45 - 3:05.

We ask all staff and families to maintain distance whenever possible for the health and well-being of everyone.
