By Monday, each student will bring home a green eLearning folder, and it will have information specific to your child inside. On Tuesday, teachers' e-office hours are 11:00am-12:00pm, and 1:00-3:30pm. Unless your child's teacher has specified to you otherwise, the best way to get in touch with them on eLearning Day is through email. We will be here to help if you have questions.
Friends at Heavilin
We are eager to launch the next piece of our 2019-2020 Theme: Friends Unplugged this month. In November, we will begin Time with Friends as a classroom practice. During Time with Friends, students will be randomly placed into small groups to do activities together - a game, a building activity, cards, dice games, jokes and riddles, Mad Libs and conversation starters. We are focusing this month on how friends matter to each of us, and how having friends makes life better.
As an extension, we will also have conversation starters posted on the monitors in our lunchroom and encourage students to talk to those around them and get to know each other better. You may remember that at our school, our students do not choose their lunch table and often may be seated by others that they do not know very well. We are excited to nurture new friendships naturally in the lunchroom as well as during Time with Friends.

Festivities in the Forum
We are in need of student musicians to play some holiday music for our Heavilin students as they come in to school during the weeks before our Christmas break.
Performers need to have taken private lessons for at least one year. Music will be performed in the forum area from 8:30 – 8:40 each day. Performers may play one to three songs. These songs should be ones that you have worked on with a private instructor or with an ensemble leader.
Students who are interested in participating as a performer may pick up an information letter and sign up form from Mrs. Bongard next week.
From Our PTO
Haunted Halls was a great success. Thank you Heavilin families for your participation. From decorating pumpkins for the contest, donating candy or baked goods, right down to joining in the fun. We couldn't do it without you. Special thanks to Jolynne Bartley for putting the event together. We appreciate you!
