A geohazard caused by movement under the Earth's surface.
Why should I be concerned?
Earthquakes can cause landslides, tsunamis, and damage to buildings and people will die from the disaster. Any place is susceptible to earthquakes, but there is a higher probability for an earthquake along a fault line. They are measured on a scale of magnitude, and the higher the number, the bigger the earthquake, and the bigger the earthquake, the greater the damage.
