St. Mary's Lions Letter
September 26, 2023
Dear St. Mary's Family,
Yes, it is true! Beyoncé surprised us last Friday by visiting our school! She stopped and talked to Ms. Londow and our 1st graders as they were walking through the parking lot after lunch. Many of you may not know that Beyoncé attended St. Mary's! She pointed out that she wore the exact uniform they were wearing and asked them if they knew how to dance. Of course, they did! It made for an exciting day to say the least!
Beginning of the Year (BOY) NWEA testing ends this week. Your child's teacher will analyze the results and will review these with you during Parent/Student/Teacher conferences on Friday, October 27th. Just a reminder that while there will be no school that day, students are expected to attend their scheduled conference with you and their teacher.
Thank you for your diligence in signing your child's Student Planner each week (1st-5th). I have no doubt that you have found this to be wonderful tool for parents and teachers to communicate regarding your child's academic success.
SAFE HAVEN TRAINING AND FIELD TRIPS
Field trips to Dewberry Farm (PK/K) and The Oil Ranch (1st-5th) are being planned for Tuesday, October 31st. As a reminder, if you would like to chaperone any event, you must have completed Safe Haven training and receive a background clearance from the Archdiocese. This process takes several weeks.
RAFFLE TICKETS - EARLY BIRD DRAWING
Please continue to sell your raffle tickets! Our next Early Bird drawing is this Friday, September 29th.
Spirit Shirts will be worn on off-campus field trips (the first one on October 31st!) in addition to special Spirit Days. Please see the order form in today's Lions Letter. The deadline to order is October 10th.
