Chester Elementary Updates

Week of August 27-31

Excellent start to 2018-2019

Friends and Families! We've had a great start to our school year. Teachers and staff are busy instructing students on high expectations, procedures, routines and our Positive Behavior Supports plan - being responsible, being respectful and being safe. We also enjoyed visiting with nearly 75% of our parents at the Back to School Night on August 22.

In addition, we discussed jobs our first week - students' jobs, teachers' jobs and the principal's job. In summary, all of us have jobs to make sure we are all working hard to make sure students are learning, being good citizens and everyone is being safe.

Below, please find pictures of Ms. Crowther, Ms. O'Kelley, Ms. Klimek, Ms. Geer and our 6th graders conducting the Monday Morning Meeting with all students and staff, a tradition at CES for the past 7-8 years. These meetings typically last 10-15 minutes, helps to build school community, serves as an effective communication strategy and provides an opportunity to review and teach all students on our responsible, respectful and safe goals.

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns as we start the school year. The student handbook serves as a resource, as well as our district policies. Please give us a call, send us an email or stop by and we can clarify questions or concerns. We appreciate partnering with all of our families to provide an exceptional elementary experience for all of our students. We are thankful, and excited for a productive and successful 2018-2019 school year and appreciate our families sharing your child with us at CES.

CES Welcomes New Team Members!

We are excited to welcome the following new team members to CES: Ms. Nicole Peterson (top left), Ms. Stephanie Preston (top middle), Mr. Blair Beilby (top right) and Ms. Robert Mann (Bottom row). Ms. Peterson joins us from Chester High School where she served as the registrar for the past ten years. Ms. Preston worked at CES previously as a para-educator, and more recently joined the CES team from Lassen County. Mr. Beilby was a substitute teacher last year, where he established positive relationships with students and staff. Finally, Mr. Mann joins us from New Mexico and will be serving both CES and CHS students. We are fortunate to have all four of these exceptional individuals working with our students each day.
