4. PTA News

A. Join PTA Today!
Please help support Rice Middle School by becoming a member of the PTA. Your membership in PTA helps provide programs for parents and students, as well as supplies for the staff. You will be joining a community that believes in building partnerships between families and school. To join PTA, go tohttp://ricemspta.membershiptoolkit.com.

If you are unsure if you have joined this school year or have questions about membership, please email Shannon Hodges at membership@ricepta.org

B. Donate to PTA
Please consider making a tax deductible donation to PTA! The PTA at Rice does not ask families to participate in any fundraising activities throughout the year. Your donations and membership in PTA are the only way we can fulfill the wish list items our teachers have requested for their classrooms and provide many other activities to support the students and staff at Rice Middle School.

Families donating $100 or more prior to October 23rd will be invited to an appreciation luncheon with our principal, Mr. Glasscock. Go to
https://ricemspta.membershiptoolkit.com to make your donation.

C. It's that time of year, and our PTA is looking for chairman to oversee a number of activities and events for the 2015-2016 school year. If you are interested in a board position, we are looking to fill our Communications Chair. This position is a great way to get involved without a big time commitment. The Communications Chair is responsible for formatting PTA information and submitting it weekly to the Rice eNews, as well as attending monthly board meetings and voting on important issues. If you are interested please contact Shannon DeWolf at president@ricepta.org.

D. Volunteering at the middle school level is much less involved than elementary school, and it's a great way to get involved, meet other parents, and make a positive impact on our students and our Rice community. Please contact Shannon DeWolf at (president@ricepta.org) if you are interested in volunteering or would like more information.
