The Weekly Update #4
November 16th, 2023

A message from the Head Raptor
December is always an exciting time for our students! The holidays can be both a time of joy and stress. One thing that can help kids–and grown ups– during this time of year is to keep as much routine in our lives as possible. Maintaining the routines for reading, homework, next day preparation, and bedtime are just a few structures that keep a sense of consistency and predictability. The stability will be beneficial for success at school.
As the snow falls and the winter holidays approach, it is the perfect time to teach our children about being helpful, grateful, generous and kind. We are so thankful for our loving and supportive families, teachers, and staff at Riverview. The Raptor community is truly amazing!
It is so hard to believe that we are approaching the end of 2023. I hope this has been a good year for you and your family. However your family celebrates the holidays this year… I hope that you are able to have fun and laugh together.
Happiest of Holidays!

SFA Update
A huge “THANK YOU” for everything you have done and continue to do to support your child’s education! This time of year can be busy for many families and it is important to continue the routines and structures at home that help your child come to school ready to learn each day. Our reading block begins at 9:00 each morning and it is so important your child is here on time for school so they don’t miss out on any learning. We also continue to ask that each child is reading 20 minutes at home Monday through Thursday and that they are completing and returning their read and respond papers. Your continued support is most appreciated especially during this busy time of year!
