Good Luck to Hunters. Be Safe.

K-6 Student of the Week

This week’s student of the week is Kindergarten student Kassidy Kimbler. She is an absolute joy to have in Mrs. Browning’s class. She doesn’t give up when work seems complicated and always seeks help.

She is a great friend to her classmates and enjoys playing with them at recess. Her favorite part about school is Mrs. Browning’s Friday Store. She loves to spend her hard-earned Pride Bucks. She also enjoys Read-Aloud time. Her favorite book, so far, is Three Billy Goats Gruff.

7-12 Student of the Week

Mrs. Fillmore has selected Calder Christiansen as the 7-12 Student of the

week. He is the son of Carl and Kristen Christiansen. Calder has exceptional

leadership skills and is always seeking out opportunities to learn and improve.

He has an excellent rapport with his peers and encourages others to do their best.

Calder not only is an exceptional student, but currently has a job and is

volunteering with multiple organizations. Most recently, he has become a mentor

with the Big Brothers, Big Sisters of America. He will no doubt have a positive

impact on those he will mentor. Calder is currently a Senior and has plans to

attend Lansing Community College in the future. Congratulations Calder!

Big picture

Weather Expert Visitor

On Friday, November 11, 2022, Meteorologist Karl Bohnak and his wife, Karroll made a visit to Mrs. McFadden’s and Mrs. Puckett’s third grade classrooms at Newberry Elementary. The students have been studying weather for the last couple of months. His visit was to enrich the students’ understanding of weather concepts.

Every Wednesday will be a different wacky day. If your child would like to participate, they will need to pay $1 to their teacher. The funds raised will go directly to your child’s class for field trips or positive incentives.
November 16: HUNTER’S DAY — Let’s blend in! Wear your camouflage and hunter’s orange
November 30: TIE DYE DAY — Brighten up the hallways with your color!
