ACP MIDDLE SCHOOL - January 7th, 2022
Message from the Principal
Dear Knights,
It has been wonderful seeing all you back. Hope your break was great. We had our parent info night for prospective students/parents last night and it was a great turnout. We filled our gym.
We are in need of your support with dress code. We are continuing to have issues around skirt lengths. We have already started implementing assigning detention. Our next steps will be to enforce our consequence of having students change beginning Monday, Jan. 10, 2022. Students can either have parents bring a change of clothes or change into uniforms we have available at school. Remember, our focus is on uniformity and professional dress code. While professional dress code may mean different things, at ACP it means adhering to the dress code that was created with the community. Skirt length must approach the knee is our current language which means that the length of the skirt should be touching the knee. While we understand that some styles don't allow for that, I ask that until you procure a skirt that meets the skirt length, students wear pants.
We will begin the extended day (before & after school) tutoring again starting Monday, Jan. 10, 2022. Please make sure you are in attendance if you have been assigned the tutoring.
Reminders:
- When informing us of a student's absence, please always CALL the attendance line (480-883-5403) as your first step. Additional step can be an email to the teachers. Emails to school staff regarding attendance isn't always the best way due to staff absences, communication to the correct personnel, etc.. The attendance line is the only way to ensure all appropriate individuals have the necessary information to reconcile student attendance.
- Students MUST be picked immediately after school as we do not have adequate supervision after school. The only areas open for students to report to are with teachers for office hours, power hour or the Library. They should not be hanging out by the basketball courts or the courtyard waiting to be picked up.
- Please DO NOT cross without a cross walk during pick up/drop off. Whether it is on a regular day or early release or finals schedule, it is worth the extra minute or two to go through the pick up/drop off line instead of having students cross with you or by themselves. I cannot reiterate this enough.
Thank you,
Manjula K Reddy

PLEASE CONSIDER MAKING A TAX CREDIT DONATION TO ACP MIDDLE SCHOOL
Once you have paid all outstanding fees for ACP Middle School, please consider making an additional tax credit contribution to ACP's general fund before December 31st. If you are able to make your tax contributions prior to the end of the calendar year, your donation would be greatly appreciated. It will help give us a jump start on some of our essential extracurricular activities. We have set a goal to collect approximately $50,000.00 this school year and hope that you will be willing to help us meet our goal. Thank you for supporting your child and ACP Middle School!
Tax Credit Basics…
A tax credit donation is a full refund, not a deduction. Contributions eligible for a tax credit are donated directly to schools, not to the state or school district. To participate or learn more, follow the link listed below to donate online or you can complete the enclosed form and submit your contribution at your convenience.
http://www.cusd80.com/taxcredit
Arizona Law ARS 43-1089.01 enables taxpayers a tax credit contribution of up to $400.00 per year if filing status is “Married, filing Joint Return;” $200.00 per calendar year if filing status is “Single of Head of Household;” and $200 per calendar year if filing status is “Married filing separate returns.” These contributions fund extracurricular activities in public schools and greatly impact our school community and our students.

KNIGHT IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Over the winter break, 8th grader, Shayne Johnson auditioned for and was accepted into the Metropolitan Youth Symphony (MYS) Division 1 ensemble. This is the highest level at MYS and the only ensemble in the program that is a full symphony orchestra, comprised of the most advanced musicians performing standard repertoire as well as music from contemporary composers. Shayne has been playing the trombone for 4 years. We are so proud of Shayne and her accomplishments representing ACP Middle School!
