Notes from Nurse G
Flu/Cold/Illness
Flu season is here and the county’s flu count is on the rise! When students wake up not feeling well, it can be hard to decide if they should attend school. Please visit the school nurse page of New Hope’s website here to help you answer that question. If your child tests positive for any contagious illness (i.e, flu, strep throat, impetigo, novovirus, mono, fifth’s disease, hand, foot, & mouth, etc.) please notify your student’s teacher and Nurse G.
COVID
I have received many questions regarding COVID. For our most current county guidelines, please visit https://www.forsyth.k12.ga.us/covid. This website will have the most current information. If your child tests positive for COVID you may email your student’s teacher and myself, gsampson@forsyth.k12.ga.us. Depending on the time of day, I will either call you that same day or the next business day to discuss when your child may return to school.
As always if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Be a Mentor at New Hope!
If you are interested in becoming a mentor in Forsyth County, please see below for upcoming training dates! The FCS Student Support team will be hosting trainings for those interested in becoming a mentor (meeting at New Hope is Oct. 27!) For more information on the mentoring program, please visit the Student Support website at https://www.forsyth.k12.ga.us/mentoring.

Around Our Community

The Sound of Music
The FoCAL Center, in conjunction with Bellissimo Theatre Company, is proud to announce the first community theatre FoCAL Main Stage Production of the classical Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, The Sound of Music!
The Sound of Music will win the hearts of the FoCAL audiences with this inspirational story, based on the memoir of Maria Augusta Trapp, following a young nun in-training who serves as governess to the seven children of the authoritative Captain von Trapp, bringing music and joy to the household. As the forces of Nazism take hold of Austria, Maria and the entire von Trapp family must make a moral decision. The Sound of Music features the classics… Climb Every Mountain, My Favorite Things, Do Re Mi, and Sixteen Going on Seventeen to name a few.
Tickets for The Sound of Music and for the complete 2022-23 FoCAL Main Stage Season are on sale now.
