1.Strategies Care College Scholarships
Two to three non-renewable scholarships intended to help with incidental costs incurred by a student who lives or attends high school in Northwest Indiana and will attend a 2 or 4 year accredited university or college. Applications are available with your school counselor
- Application Due Date: April 1, 2019
- Graduating high school senior of Northwest Indiana with documented college acceptance
- GPA:2.5 or higher
- 400 word essay typed: United States Border Patrol has been around since 1904 enforcing and regulating laws under the immigration and Nationality Act. U.S. Border Patrol is now under the Department of Homeland Security. What is your position on this issue? Are you for or against building a wall? Why? or Why not?
- Required quarterly communication concerning college progress and retention
- Two recommendations: one each form a school staff member and a community member supporting character and financial need
- Interview with Committee
- Award: $500-$1,000

2. Indiana Sheriffs' Association Scholarship Fund Criteria:
- Must be an Indiana Resident
- Must be committed to pursuing an education and career in a law enforcement field at an Indiana College or University
- Must be a current member of the Association, or a dependent child or grandchild of a current member of the Association. If you do not meet the membership requirement, please see your school counselor for scholarship application to meet the requirement.
- Must enroll as a full-time student (12 hours)
- All information must be typed or hand-printed neatly, completed in full and returned to: Indiana Sheriffs' Association, 147 East Maryland Street, Indianapolis, IN 46204-3608

3.Lauretta Factory/ Mary Ann Jimerson Scholarships
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Eta Kappa Omega Chapter proudly offers the Lauretta Factory/ Mary Ann Jimerson Scholarships. Two scholarships of $1200.00 each will be awarded.

Qualifications:
- Must be a female of African American descent and college bound
- Must be a resident of East Chicago or Hammond, IN
- Provide an official transcript with 2.5 or above G.P.A. (Grade Point Average on a 4.0 scale)
- Include two (2) letters of recommendation from a high school teacher and/or high school counselor on a school letterhead.
- Provide documentation that confirms that you have passed the End of Course Assessment (ECA) test in its entirety
- Submit a one-page, typed essay (font: Ariel12, single space each paragraph and double space between paragraphs). Using the three forms of bullying listed (physical, verbal, or mental), how would you address bullying?
- Complete the personal data form attached to the application packet
- Enclose a photo of yourself; may be a copy or scanned photo (PHOTO NOT RETURNABLE)

5. Bachus & Schanker LLC $2,000 Scholarship criteria:
- 800 Word Essay: The importance and efficacy of the 7th Amendment and how it affects your life. Consideration for the entirety of the Amendment (rather than the well-known nutshell explanation of the right to trial by jury) is encouraged.
- High School Seniors who have been accepted to a four year University
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Deadline: July 30th, 2019 (Fall Scholarship)

Students can still sign up for 21st Century Scholars and receive a treat from Mrs. Drummond once their application is submitted. Students may submit a paper application to Mrs. Drummond or sign up online at www.scholars.in.gov
The Cooke Young Scholars Program is a selective five-year, pre-college scholarship for high-performing 7th grade students with financial need. It provides comprehensive academic and college advising, as well as financial support for school, Cooke-sponsored summer programs, internships, and other learning enrichment opportunities.

NUMATS
Northwestern University's Midwest Academic Talent Search (NUMATS) is a research-validated program that utilizes above-grade-level assessment as a means of gifted testing, to help parents and educators better understand their students’ educational needs. NUMATS allows eligible students to take internationally recognized tests before the grade levels at which they are normally administered. The PSAT 8/9 test, designed for students in grades 8 and 9, is administered to students in grades 3 through 6. The SAT and ACT designed for students in grades 11 and 12, are administered to students in grades 6 through 9. NUMATS identifies academic ability, measures growth and connects students to resources and opportunities for advanced students.
