EAGLE SOAR
October 20, 2017
NEWS
As we move farther into Fall and see the beautiful changes in our trees, we also see the ending of our Fall Season sports. Youth Soccer and Football are coming to an end as Youth Basketball is starting it's season registration. It is an exciting time of year for Columbia because the Varsity Girls Golf Team is competing in the State Championship and many of the CCHS Varsity Teams are preparing for Districts. Also, the Varsity Football Team is preparing for their upcoming play-offs! We hope to see many young fans cheering on our Golden Eagles!!!
Halloween News...
All Halloween activities will take place on Tuesday, October 31st. If you plan to visit your child's classroom, please be sure to have your background check completed by Friday, October 27th.
REMINDER!!!
FIRE PREVENTION
We would like to thank the Columbia Fire Department for donating their time Tuesday at CUES. They shared fire prevention and safety tips with our 3rd and 4th grade. We also appreciate the support of both the fire and police department with Walk to School Day. Their encouragement of our staff and students is greatly appreciated within our community.
PARENT REMINDER
To ensure all of our students are safe, all transportation requests need to be communicated to your child's teacher with a note (if there is a change in the normal routine). We understand that changes arise. However, please notify the office by 2 PM to ensure necessary notification. It is appreciated that requests be made in note form to your child's teacher, as the office is inundated by many calls.
Thanking you in advance!
K-KIDS
K-Kids is a "student-led" community-service organization, which operates under school regulations and draws its members from the student body. K-Kids is unique because the Brooklyn Kiwanis Club, composed of leading business and professional people of the community, sponsors it.
Be on the look out for UNICEF coin collectors during trick or treating. Also, they are having a bake sale at the Kiwanis Art and Craft Show @ CUES on Saturday, October 28th, 2017, to raise money for UNICEF.
