January 27, 2023
Dear Oak Ridge Families,
It looks like the snow day dances and snow day regimens the students did Tuesday evening worked. I heard chatter from students all day on Tuesday about the "right way" to put a frozen fork under your pillow, sleep with you pajamas inside out, jump on your bed 10 times, on and on to cause it to snow. It looks like there may be some wintery precipitation possible next week as well. We'll see what kind of snow day shenanigans the kids come up with next week.
Elementary teachers will be working the concession stand on January 31st, February 3rd, and February 6th at home for the Scott/Miss Conference Tournament with profits going toward school supplies for students next year. Come out and enjoy a game and a grilled cheese sandwich, burger, pretzel, or popcorn from the concession stand and support our elementary charity goals.
January 31st is a $1 hat day with proceeds going toward school supplies for students next year so remind your kiddos to drag out their funny hats and support our elementary charity day.
Classes will celebrate Valentines Day on February 14th. Party treats can be dropped off at the office the afternoon before or the morning of February 14th. Please avoid having flowers and balloons delivered to students at school. Any such deliveries will be held in the office until after school is out when students can come and pick them up if they are a car rider. Deliveries will not be sent home on the bus. Parents will need to come and pick them up from the office.
Come and join the fun on February 27th @ 5:30PM for the ORES Title 1 Family Fun Night! We will have food, games, and prizes as well as tips and tricks for helping your child with reading and math. Students that have a parent sign in will be entered into a drawing for a $50 Walmart gift card. Two gift cards will be given away.
If you or your child needs assistance with school supplies or other resources, please let me know as we have access to resources to help you.
Have a restful weekend with family!
Sincerely,
Sonia Wood
