Action Required for ALL Returning Students
Please visit our District and BCE websites for all your back-to-school needs. Speaking of websites, we are excited to share with you that we have updated our district and campus websites! We hope that you will find our sites to be more dynamic, engaging and user friendly.
While returning students are automatically enrolled for the coming school year, student information must be verified and/or updated annually. Therefore, all returning students must complete a Returning Student Packet. The packet is available online. Be sure to follow each step carefully. Please note, in order to complete your child’s Returning Student Packet, you will need to access txConnect, a web-based system that provides online access to school-related information about your child including attendance, grades, discipline, assessments and immunizations. If you already have a txConnect account, you are ready to complete the Returning Student Packet online.
Please be sure to visit our Enrollment webpage and the numerous back-to-school resources located on the left side bar of the page!

Things to Remember for the Start of School:

Come on out! Join us at BCE on Monday, August 13th to meet your teacher for this school year! Kinder will visit classrooms that morning from 9:00 - 11:00, Grades 1st - 2nd will visit the classroom and meet the teacher from 5:15pm to 6:00pm, and Grades 3rd - 5th from 6:15pm to 7:00pm. Kindergarten Meet the Teacher will last the entire two hours, from 9:00 - 11:00, with parents/students rotating through stations. Please plan to leave siblings at home if possible, and to be there the entire time.
We look forward to seeing you!
First Day of School:
The first day of school is Wednesday, August 15th. All students will report to their
homerooms. Kindergarten parents, please join the principal and PTO in the cafeteria for Kinder Tears and Cheers starting at 7:30am.
School Hours:
Class Start Time: 7:40am; Dismissal Time: 3:00pm (5 extra minutes added to the day)
Doors to BCE open at 7:20am. Students who arrive after the 7:40 bell are tardy. Students will need to sign in at the front office and receive a tardy slip to give to their teacher.
Arrival & Departure Routines:
Bee Cave is a family friendly community school where safety is our first priority. Knowing the importance of modeling safe, respectful behavior for our children, we appreciate our parents and staff establishing a positive tone to our mornings and afternoons. Parents help our students to arrive and depart school safely each day. In the mornings, students arrive by car or bus, and in the afternoons, students are picked-up by car, bus or our parent pick-up option. Please see attached map below for drop-off and pick-up locations.
All parents will be allowed to walk students to classrooms on the first day of school. After the first day, parents can walk students to class, but must check-in to the front office first. Starting August 27th, parents will only be allowed to check-in and go to classrooms with a prior appt. scheduled with the teacher. Thank you for helping to promote safety, independence and responsibility for all students.
For parent and student safety, visitors/parents are always required to check-in at the front office. We appreciate your help in ensuring our campus is safe for all.
A separate email will be sent for updating information in School Dismissal Manager.
Bus Transportation Information:
Bus routes and estimated morning pick-up times can be found on the district website:
https://www.ltisdschools.org/Page/131
Reporting an Absence:
Consistent school attendance is critical for the development of your child. When they miss school, we miss them! The entire school day is needed to deliver the full instructional program. Students need to come to school and attend the full day unless they have fever, communicable disease, or family emergency. Help us communicate the importance of daily attendance to your child and schedule necessary appointments around school hours. When an absence is necessary, e-mail the registrar, Pam Anderson at myliusandersonp@ltisdschools.org if your child will not be in school that day. A note explaining any absence is required upon the student’s return to school.
Communicating with the School:
Communication is a top priority for the BCE community. For classroom concerns, please begin by speaking directly to the teacher. Teachers have limited phone and email access while they are with your child. Our standard response time is within 24 hours. If a concern requires immediate attention from a campus administrator, contact assistant principal, Kim Kellner at kellnerk@ltisdschools.org, or counselor Courtney Trimmer at trimmerc@ltisdschools.org. When scheduling a meeting with the principal, contact administrative assistant, Susan Hart, at harts@ltisdschools.org.
Morning Assemblies:
Morning assembly is held in the gym on Friday mornings at 7:40am. Our first assembly will take place on Friday, August 24th. Join our community of students for our morning routines, skits, announcements, and celebrations!
Lunch Information:
Student lunches (including milk) will be offered each day for students who wish to purchase a school lunch. Students who bring a lunch may purchase a drink or snack a la carte through the lunch line. The Federal Lunch Program forms are available online at https://www.ltisdschools.org/Page/62. Lunch accounts can be set up online at the “Online Meals Prepay” link. It is suggested that all students have an account with a few days credit on it in case lunches or money are misplaced or forgotten. Please visit the Bee Cave or district website to access the district’s Food and Nutrition (FANS) website to add money to your child’s lunch account, view your child’s purchases, access the daily menu, and to set restrictions for your child’s lunch. It is not permissible for the cafeteria and school staff to restrict your child’s purchases. Please take the time to review the FANS site and establish your child’s lunch account.
We ask parents to begin visiting for lunch after the first full week of school. The first days of school are spent with our staff assisting students with lunch account information, seating in the cafeteria, lunchroom etiquette, and arrival and dismissal routines. This time is sacred for us to establish routines in the lunchroom. Please check the campus website for grade level/teacher lunch schedules.
Please note that your visit to lunch is time to spend with your child. Food may not be brought and shared with other children. For your convenience, we have cafeteria monitors who will assist the children in the cafeteria. Please report any concerns to the monitors at the end of the lunch period. Recess time is a sacred time for your child to socialize and play with others. Parents are not allowed on the playground during recess.
Parent Information Night:
Please join us on Thursday, August 30th for Parent Information Night. Learn more about curriculum, instruction, grading policies, homework, etc.
Kinder - 2nd Grades from 5:30 - 6:15

Student Planners
Celebrating Birthdays
A state law passed in 2011 requires school districts to adopt and administer a policy for the care of students with diagnosed food allergies at risk for anaphylaxis. In response, Lake Travis ISD developed a comprehensive Food Allergy Management Plan which is implemented annually in various environments throughout our campus. Our Food Allergy Management Plan has been in place for several years. However, beginning with the 2018-2019 school year, additional measures will be implemented to best support students and reduce the risk of exposure to common food allergies. These include:
Birthdays will no longer be celebrated in the classroom with food. Students celebrating a birthday will receive a coupon for a treat to be redeemed at our school café. Parents, grandparents and other family members are welcome to join their child for lunch. Students whose birthdays occur on a non-instructional day will receive their coupon on the next available instructional day.
On designated ‘party days’ (winter party, end of year, etc), the following general procedures will be implemented in classrooms where one or more students have been identified as having a severe food allergy:
Food brought into the classroom must be store-bought or purchased from the LTISD Food and Nutrition Services Department. Other than fruits and vegetables, food must be delivered to the classroom in its original packaging.
Teachers and/or paraprofessionals assigned to the classroom will monitor the food brought in by students/parents for the identified allergen. Students/parents will not be allowed to bring in food with the identified allergen listed as an ingredient.
To review the District’s Food Allergy Management Plan in its entirety, please visit our Food and Nutrition Services Department website.
We are excited to implement these important measures that will best support our students. Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
