Teacher Appreciation week is May 2- 6. The PTA would like to show our teachers and staff some love by showering them with them with snacks, treats, and meals. Please use this Sign Up Genius Link to contribute. Please deliver items to the office by this Thursday, April 28. Thank you for supporting our teachers and staff. They truly are the BEST!

State Testing Continues

We got off to a great start with State testing last week and we will continue this week. Our teachers and students have been preparing all year for these exams. Please be sure your child gets a good night's rest, has a healthy breakfast, arrives to school on time, and encourage them to do their best. Please click the links below for more information regarding the specific test your child will take. If you have any questions, please contact your child's teacher, Mrs. Schulze, Mrs. Huntley, or myself. We are happy to help you with any questions or concerns.

Parent, Student, Teacher Guides (PSTG): Parent, Student and Teacher Guides provide a list of test-taking tips, objectives covered in the test, and practice tests. Parents/guardians are encouraged to discuss these materials with their child to help prepare them for the tests.

Jackson's Annual Bike Safety Rodeo

Jackson's Annual Bike Safety Rodeo is back! After a pandemic break the past two years, we are joining together again outside Jackson Elementary School from 6:00-8:00pm on Tuesday, May 3rd to have fun and teach kids about bicycle safety! The event will include helmet fittings, bicycle mechanical checks by local bike shop mechanics, a review of the bicycle rules of the road, a fun bicycle skills course to ride through, and an optional neighborhood ride led by Norman Police officers! We'll also have snacks and helmet decorating. Participants should bring their own bicycle and helmet. A limited number of free helmets will be available for those in need. Free helmets will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. If you don’t have a bicycle, you can bring a scooter instead. Adults are welcome to bring their bikes and helmets and participate too!

Contact Michelle Carr with any questions (405-664-2678). If you can volunteer to help at the Jackson Bike Safety Rodeo, please sign up at: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0548AEA72BA7FA7-jackson1

Wednesday, May 4th is National Bike and Roll to School Day! Join kids around the country riding and rolling to school. You can ride straight from your home or meet the Jackson group to ride to school together! The group will meet at the Norman Investigation Center east parking lot at the corner of Wylie Rd. and Lindsey St. at 7:00am. We will roll out at 7:10am and ride north up Wylie Rd. to the school with a Norman Police escort. Parents are welcome to join the ride! Don’t forget your helmet!
