THE MHS ATHLETIC BOOSTERS NEED YOU
We are a group of volunteers who raise funds to provide annual scholarships, trophies, letterman jackets for student athletes, and support to individual teams that have special requests. We primarily raise money through concessions and trophy sponsorships. We also have a great Booster store where we offer Custom Maynard Tiger Team apparel. Here is the store link. Please follow us on Facebook (Maynard Booster Club) for important Booster updates. We meet the second Wednesday of each month unless otherwise noted in the MHS Library at 7pm…our first official meeting is on September 14th, and you are invited to join us!
Athletes are eligible for a letterman jacket after participating in the same sport for 4 years beginning freshman year or by earning 5 varsity letters by playing on varsity for multiple sports beginning freshman year. If your student is eligible for a jacket this season, please let Mike Arria, the Athletic Director, know by September 30. His email is marria@maynard.k12.ma.us.
We are looking for Fall Shack volunteers to help out at soccer games, Friday night football games and field hockey senior night all of which will be held up at Alumni Field. Be ready for our "Sign-up Genius" emails that go out to the athlete families. We have many jobs that don’t involve volunteering in concessions as well.
We are also looking for fall trophy sponsors; the cost is $35 per trophy. If you own a business or are a family that would like to give back, please reach out to us at christinemorgan1299@gmail.com.
A MAGICAL YEAR FOR THE MAYNARD MUSIC PROGRAM
If your student is interested in this amazing opportunity to represent Maynard High School at the Happiest Place on Earth, please plan to attend our MANDATORY Disney Trip meeting on Thursday, September 8, starting at 6:30 PM. You will meet our music teachers and our Maynard Music Association families, who give generously of their time to support music in our community.
If your student will not be traveling, but you are still interested in supporting the Music Department, please consider joining our Maynard Music Association, or supporting our fundraisers.

MHS FRESHMAN KAYLEIGH DONAHUE WINS NATIONAL ESSAY CONTEST

The essay theme was “The Best of Me is Drug Free,” Kaleigh entered the contest last year, when she was an eighth grader at the Fowler School. She won locals, then states, and finally the National contest across all 50 states during the annual convention in Atlanta. Kayleigh will receive a $300 Amazon gift card as a prize. MEET MS. KILCOMMINS
I attend Fitchburg State University and will be graduating this spring, 2023. This year I am working with my advisor, Ms. Fernald, to be the best counselor I can be! I will be here for the entire school year and will typically be here on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
By my side I have my service dog, Bear, who is a Golden Retriever. Bear is 3 years old and was carefully picked and trained to be my service dog. He helps me to navigate the world and make things more accessible. I hope to inspire others into getting whatever help and support they may need as well!
As Bear is a working dog, he will always be wearing his vest. Unfortunately students cannot pet him when we are in halls or he is wearing his vest, as he has a very important job to do. This may be different from times students have had therapy dogs within the school. I am happy to answer students’ questions about having a service dog and what he does!
I am looking forward to a wonderful year in such an awesome community!"
