Principal's Corner

Wow, we are already to December! Time is flying by this year! This is my favorite time of year as I love the spirit of giving and gratitude throughout the holiday season. As you think about the blessings you have in your life, I encourage you to think of the teachers or school personnel that have had a positive impact in the development and growth of your student(s). The staff here at Patrick Henry devote their time, love, and energy into each student they encounter. They pour themselves into their role as a teacher and mentor to young people every day. I would love to hear from you about why you are thankful or appreciate a member (or members) of our staff. You can email me directly at or drop a note off in the office, but I would love to compile a stack of kind words and appreciation to share with our staff this holiday season! This can include any member of the staff (teachers, custodians, clerical, lunch personnel, education assistants, counselors, etc.). I will collect the notes from now through December 17th, as I plan to present them to our staff at our meeting on December 18th. I can’t wait to hear from you!

Thank you for your support and partnership in making Patrick Henry a positive place for staff, students, and families!

I wish you all a happy holiday season!

Reporting an absence

If your child is going to be absent, please call the school (367-7639) prior to

8:40am. An absence must be reported either by note or phone in the day of

the absence, or before if you know ahead of time. Absences can also be reported

via voice mail outside of regular office hours.

Students leaving during the day need to pick up a pass in the office by

9:00am and also check out with a parent/guardian at the office when leaving.

If they come back during the school day, a pass from the front office

needs to be issued in order for them to get back into the classroom.

After attendance is taken each morning, the attendance secretary will begin

calling parents/guardians who have not notified the school regarding a student’s

absence. Student safety is the main concern and this procedure provides

another check on a student’s absence.
